Right, so I'm quite on the fence on which I'd rather run a pair of main deck in a Midrange Junk deck. Here's a few things I've been using for comparison:
Casting Cost: Finks
- Comes down earlier, easier to cast.
Total Life Gain: Draw*
- Both cards net you a total of 4 life.
* Finks however can be removed from the graveyard response to unearth, exiled, infected, etc etc, possibly making you lose out on that other 2 life.
P/T: Baloth*
- He's bigger, harder to kill by conventional means. Bolt etc.
* Finks gets to trade/chump twice though. Baloth's P/T does however avoid the need for Trading and Chumping since it's generally bigger than most other things.
Discard: Baloth
- Finks gets hit by Inquisition. Even if Baloth could get hit by it, he'd still come into play as a replacement effect.
Resilience: Finks
- Comes back from the dead. Might save you two swings from a Goyf whereas Baloth will bite the bullet first time around. He also sticks around post Wrath.
Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated! Thanks! We can talk about what kinds of decks can benefit from either card more as well, so this thread isn't limited to my situation.

I think it really has to do with what cmc slot you are getting clogged up at. If you already have 10+ 3 cmc spells, but only a couple 4 drops, maybe go Baloth. Generally I am a big fan of Finks, and suggest the same as above: Running Finks maindeck and Baloth in the board for your Jund match up.
Finks is much better in the deck. It is an extra blocker from persist, it's cheaper, you can hit it from a Bloodbraid Elf, etc. I've always liked Baloth side for the Jund mirror, but nothing else. Yeah, it's a 4/4 for 4 with two upsides, but the Finks coming down earlier is just better tempo, plus the persist is a nice bonus.
Honestly if you're playing green these should both be included with Finks main and Baloth in the side to bring in against Jund, Burn, and other aggro decks.
Why not run Finks/Baloth/Tragtusk and just ignore every red deck people make? Not to mention greatly improving your jund match-up.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.

Go with Finks in the main and Baloth in the side (and only if you fear Jund).

Big Johnny.
There would be room for both should I choose Obstinate Baloth for the "Beatstick" slot. But that's a different topic all together.
