I love this card, but I cant seem to find many decks that utilize it. I tend to see it in mill decks but can it be used in tempo or control deck possibly with cards like gravecrawler, undead alchemist, merfolk looter etc. and just work out of the grave?

I saw it used once on Cockatrice. The idea of the deck is to use Dredge mechanics and discard effects to get creatures into your graveyard. Play with Dredgevine and Gravecrawler, as well as Stinkweed Imp, maybe get some action there. The idea is to Stinkweed into some creatures, including Crawlers and Dredgevines. If you cast a Skaab Ruinator, you can then cast Gravecrawler (it's a Zombie), you've got the two guys for Dredgevine, and now you've got your army ready to go.
I do think it lacks a lot from the missing Grave-Troll, but it's still a decent deck, especially when there's an underplayed card you're trying to use in some regard.
Some merfolk decks run it because they can vial it in. Or if they're playing vs a creature removal deck (jund) they side it in since there will be 3+ creatures in the graveyard.
Andre Luff made day two of GP Lyon with the following deck. I believe he went 10-5, where top 8 was 13-2, but I am not certain. I'm not particularly fond of the archetype, but think this serves as a good starting point for those interested.
I had alot of fun playing him in standard pre rotation. I was playing him in a U/R self mill shell with misthollow griffins, grim lavamancers, and molten-tail masticores. I've tried it with modern cards like magus of the bazzar and hedron crab, it wasnt very competitive but still very fun.
So im somewhat new to magic so sorry for ignorance. So im digging the idea of misthollow griffins. Im trying to put together a control deck of kinds with these two players keeping consistent board presence. Too bad mist of stagnation is out of format, I think it would play into the strat perfectly.
Is there anyway to dump specific cards into the grave from the library? Something like a a self-memoricide or a buried alive. Or are there any other cards that trigger when they are exiled? ive tried to find some through the gatherer but havent had much luck, I just there arent any besides the griffins.

I don't think there are any other cards you can play from exile. I have found the best way get cards in the yard are hedron crab with fetches and faithless looting/ magus of the bazar. have a high creature count and be willing to exile cards other than the griffin and you'll do fine.

You can memoricide yourself.
Also, any card with the suspend ability in exile can be resolved if it gains a time counter. There is currently no way to utilize that however.
