I was exploring alternatives to the standard Gruul cards (Bloodbraid Elf, Huntmaster of the Fells, etc.) when I came across this gem. It's difficult to pull off, but can result in some insane CA, as well as targeting the threats that you need to eliminate. Does anyone have any experience running this card, or would you consider it?
Just to give some context, my cube is a bit atypical (I don't run BBE), which is why I was looking for unique/different cards.
wtwlf and eidolon really hit this on the head. Due to its targeting restriction, it's basically unplayable in regular Cube. I run it in EDH cube, but it's a lot better there. Stick to Huntmaster or BBE for a 4-drop Gruul. If you want an unusual choice, consider Fires of Yavimaya.

Thanks for the feedback. I recognize that this isn't a great card for 1v1, but I still think it's semiplayable... I don't have the stats, but I'm sure you're close to 100% certain you'll run up against a creature and land you want to destroy. From there you just need an artifact (quite common when signets, moxen, etc. are included in a cube) and an enchantment (hits reanimator and all the Orings (oblivion ring, detention sphere, journey to nowhere) hard, and synergizes with cards like Recurring Nightmare).
I realize it's a narrow card, but I think the CA can be worth it. I'm going to test it out and I'll let you know how it goes.
I cut it from my classic cube, which had an even higher relative percentage of enchantments, because it's nigh impossible to pull off with any regularity. I'm not just posturing that it's a bad card in 1 vs 1, I cubed it and cut it for being terrible. Just in case that info can save you some time and frustration.
the next time you cube, keep track of how often every one of those permanent types is on the board. that should give you the information you need to not run this card.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
I had this in the original build of my cube. The only deck that really would want to run this is a deck that runs lots of enchantments and artifacts so you can hit 3 of the opponent's permanents and 1 of your own, but then that changes the math from a 4-1 which is a huge blowout to a 3-2 which is ok, but nothing special. And it's STILL hard to pull off.
I wish this card was more like Hull Breach, because the effect is awesome, and a 4 CMC multicolor sorcery should be awesome.
It might be a narrow, conditional card, but look at those lasers!
I never noticed the lasers are hitting the soldier (creature), sword (artifact), ground (land) and aura (enchantment)!
We play this in multiplayer and even then it is still not that easy to pull off. If you ever did, that creature or artifact would have made significant damage while you wait for enchantment to target. Sometimes you will have no choice but to hit the ORing or Journey to Nowhere, and have to bring back an opponents creature.
That being said, getting an occsaional 4 for 1 creates great fun moments and that makes this card playable in multiplayer.

That's pretty cool, though it summarizes the card's problem quite well: You're hitting the creature and the aura, which is pointless, but you do have to make these kind of choices to play the card.
Specialities about the cube: U tempo, B aggro, R slow-ish are supported. G aggro is not.
Currently trying to support tokens in all colors but blue, in different ways: W pumps them, B sacrifices them, R suicides them, G has decent-sized ones.

Alternatives with similar effects are Rain of Thorns and Hull Breach.
