Default [IDW] Path of Vengeance Series

Mods - Unsure if you prefer separate threads or combine the lot together. (other mtgs thread).

All the preview information is out on the IDW's entire 'Path of Vengeance' comic book series. This is of course is interesting from a perspective that there may be a chance of getting a IDW promo card which may see print in either Gatecrash or Dragon's Maze, but perhaps not very much in the way of fueling speculation as to anything we may see in these two sets. At the very least, storyline / flavor fiends will likely be happy.

Anywhoos - here's the full rundown (source here) :
Magic: The Gathering - Path of Vengeance #1 (of 4)
Matt Forbeck (w) • Martín Cóccolo (a) • Dan Scott (c)
Dack Fayden returns to Ravnica! Dack knows that the malevolent Sifa Grent has something sinister planned for the city of Ravnica, but he must uncover her plot while being pursued by Rakdos cultists and Boros soldiers. Not only that, but someone from Dack’s past may just put an end to the Planeswalker thief!
Scheduled release - November, 2012 (yeah, right)
~
Magic: The Gathering - Path of Vengeance #2 (of 4)
Matt Forbeck (w) • Martín Cóccolo (a) • Dan Scott (c)
The Cult of Rakdos has put a price on Dack Fayden's head - and Maytov, the best thief in Ravnica, has come to collect. Now, Dack must fight for his life against an opponent more cunning than anyone he's ever faced. Will Maytov succeed where even Sifa Grent has failed-and kill the Planeswalker Thief?
Scheduled release - January 30, 2013
~
Magic: The Gathering ― Path of Vengeance #3 (of 4)
Matt Forbeck (w) • Martin Coccolo (a) • Chris Rahn (c)
Dack Fayden has finally uncovered Sifa Grent’s plan for Ravnica… and it could bring unbelievable devastation to the city-plane! Now, Dack must make his way through Ravnica, with Rakdos cultists and city guards hot on his trail, in the hope that he can stop Sifa before it’s too late!
Scheduled release - February, 2013
~
Magic: The Gathering - Path of Vengeance #4 (of 4)
Matt Forbeck (w) • Martin Coccolo (a) • Alex Horley (c)
THE FINAL SHOWDOWN! Dack Fayden confronts Sifa Grent in a battle that may be too much for the Planeswalker thief. With the fate of Ravnica hanging in the balance, Dack must rally all his strength to put an end to the villainous Sifa once and for all!
Scheduled release - March, 2013

Sweet! The cards will doubtless suck, but I'm liking the cover art.

I like POV 3's art.. 2's is kinda.. poor.

It just goes to show great art can be ruined by bad perspective.

Yeah, but his weakness to bus based removal is so crippling. Certainly not a 4 of.

3 is clearly the best, and hopefully a creature from DGM.

2 is too small for me to make out anything.

The art for #2 really, really sucks. The #3 is great, though. Why they allowed that ridiculous art for #2?

#3 is Hellhole Flailer from RTR. One of my favorite B/R creatures.

We've seen all of these before except #2, I think. I know I've seen the others, but that one's new to me.

I'm a bit more optimistic. Isn't #1 looks like Spell Snare?

If that's the case I'm getting 4 copies.

My first thought was the far-less exciting Whiplash Trap, but I can see Spell Snare. That would be pretty cool.

The comics came out in our shop already so the promo card for Path of Vengeance #1 is Turnabout. Not a bad card, would be good for those Hightide players if they prefer the new frame. Otherwise just an OK promo card.

#1 - Excellent! Recess is over, go back and learn sex-ed with the other 6th graders.

Turnabout? Huh. Better than Whiplash Trap, worse than Spell Snare.

I'm getting a pretty Grixis vibe from these promos (Arrest notwithstanding).

Yeah the art looks more like Spell Snare than Turnabout, oh well too bad for that.

I don't see the pattern, but it does seem more Grixis, I guess?
