**Alphonsine, Alexis and Herschell...and Pugsly, were let into their carriage, which soon began moving.**

> A precocious little human girl with long red hair, 9 but tall for her age, dressed in a silk shirt and long woven skirt. (Amelia Etang)
> A 17 year old kindir boy, his features stern and watchful and framed by ear-length black hair, dressed in leather armor. (Gewahlt Beartooth)
> A nadrask girl of around 15, a long red mohawk covering half her face, which was pixish and utterly at odds with her haughty demeanor. She was dressed in red silk and black leather, with tattoos resembling a full moon with a crescent moon shape cut out from its center. (Alespry'Dal aka Pryde)

Content to sit quietly, Herschell rolled Pugsly over and rubbed his belly, which caused the false dog to produce a scratchy grinding noise.

**Alphonsine clenched his teeth at the sound.**

Alphonsine - Interesting bit of magic there...

"Oh, I traded for this little guy from a merchant I met in Elexia. Cost a pretty penny but I just had to have him! [Baby voice] Oh yes I did! Who's the little guy I just couldn't turn down? It's you! It's you!"

Pugsly - "GGRRRSHSHSGRRGSHSHSGRSHHRGSHAGRHSAGR"

Atarin Boy - Looks like Entrask's work. My father has a whole bunch of them guarding our house, only a long bigger, and for ferocious.

Nadrask Girl - And made of solid gold I am sure Amar.

Amar - Nothing as fancy as I am sure guards your family's barges and huts Pryde, I'm sure.

Pryde - ...how is the arm Amar? Does it still pain you? Plaga can be such a beast, I wonder whatever set him off.

Amar - One word to my father...

Pryde - Would take you several months to schedule, I am sure.

Kindir Boy - Enough.

"Do you two need a mediator? I would be glad to offer my services for a very reasonable fee."

Mirsch - "Children, behave. We have a long journey, and I have no intention of suffering through it to the sound of petty quarrels."

Amar - Petty? PETTY?

Pryde - Fee!?

Alphonsine - Oh this is going well...

Little Redhead - I like your armor, is it Sylvanite?

Alphonsine - Why yes, are you?

Redhead - Of course, I am Amelia Etang.

Alphonsine - Alphonsine Chevalier, at your service, m'lady.

**The little girl responded with a wide grin.**

Herschell chimes in to Alphonsines conversation.

"Excuse me, Mr. Chavalier, how did you acquire that armor? I've been to Sylvan once or twice, but I never did find armor of that quality."

Alphonsine - They were made for my ancestors. What I wear right now is actually a jigsaw of pieces of multiple armor sets, pieced together for fit and to give my a variety of rather minor enchantments. Luckily there were all made to look the same so they don't look piecemeal.

"...Oh. So, none of that is for sale? :/ "

Pugsly rattled slightly and Herschell resumed petting his belly.

Alphonsine - Even if I found a more useful piece to replace any of it with, I fear my family bonds would preclude me.

"Too bad. I think I could find a good market for some of that in Elexia. Do you know who made it? Perhaps I could buy it from them?"

Alphonsine - As I said, they were made for my ancestors, so either they are long dead or undead, either of equal likelihood.

Mirsch - "If undead, you could possibly find them in Sylvan."

**The elf sneered at the thought.**

Alexis scoffed at her comrades comments and turned to the armored man.

Alexis- It doesn't surprise me that such fine armaments come from Sylvan, most I've met there seem to have a taste for flare that I haven't seen matched by any other culture.

The woman paused.

Alexis- ...And for the record the undead tend to be surprisingly good conversationalists.

Alphonsine - This is true, my cousin is haunted by one of my ancestors. A surprisingly helpful and delightful fellow.

**Suddenly Dogget's voice rang out from a crystal on the ceiling.**

Doggett - We are approaching a pitstop at a small village, we will be stopping there shortly.

Herschell looked at Alexis.

"Aren't they? I once had a very long discussion about the minutiae of property rights and how they changed over the past two centuries in both of Sylvan's locales with someone who lived through them. Indeed, was involved with changing some of them."

Alphonsine - Yeah, some people seemed to take the term "land rights" quite literally after the change. Guess we should prepare to disembark.

Alexis rose to her feet and stretched both arms over her head, releasing a few cracks from her spine. She shook her hands out and immediately reached for a cigarette, this ride was too long for her not to smoke and at that moment the jakari was more excited for nicotine than for whatever adventure awaited.

Alexis- Ha! I've learned more about the law talking to finicky vampire nobles than in all my time as a Peacekeeper, although I'd be lying if I said I found property and contract law nearly as interesting. Will we be stopping for a little food and drink while were hear? I'd be happy to by that handsome kindir boy his first drink.

Gewahlt - You're a few years late for that ma'am.

The woman smiled at the boys response, peering her head slightly closer to the seated kindir as her eyebrows perked up in interest.

Alexis- My my I thought kinder weren't supposed to consume alcohol, are you some kind of troublemaker or something interesting of the sort? Oh and for the record, the names Alexis but you can call me whatever you please... so long as it isn't Ma'am.

Gewahlt - Tradition fades in the lowlands, Miss.

Alexis' smile faded.

Alexis- While I never cared to see what the highland had to offer a Jakari woman, I assume that the tolerance and reverence of the almighty coin are preferable to whatever the ethnic cloisters of other lands claim to offer in ways of tradition and community. Do you agree or do my ramblings come across as an ignorant sense of superiority?

Gewahlt - I simply meant that few of the traditional kindir rules are followed too strictly by those that live outside of the mountains Miss. I didn't mean to offend you.
