This art seems kinda lazy, its the same picture; just at a different angle...though at least at this angle, you can actually tell that the mage has been hit by the spear.

the art is sweet, the card is relevant to standard in a few decks, but I believe this will be a standard staple throughout the next few core sets, so I wouldnt minda getting a few of these just to pimp a standard deck using them in the future

I'm pretty sure they also give the same art description to the FNM promo artist as the original. The other FNM promos I've seen mostly (all?) have artwork very similar to the original.

There is NO misprint here. The FNM promos are always the number of the current month (January = 1)/the number of months in a year (12). Ergo, 1/12 is exactly correct.

Example: Everflowing Chalice as you can see the card number is still 1/12 despite this being the January 2011 FNM promo. You'll notice after the card number the text, "F11," which indicated the year of print. Beginning in 2012, however, Wizards scrapped the year of print, and now, the promos just state "FNM".

Since Moeller had excellent works on Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning, the art could be better than this....

Surprised people expected a non-Standard card. Since Constructed FNMs are almost all Standard (and will continue to be even after Modern is sanctionable), it makes sense to have mostly Standard cards, and I doubt they'd do runner non-Standard (remember Gitaxian Probe this month).
