Make it into an unblockable creature and encode a spell onto it? Not sure if it will still be encoded once it turns into a non creature though.

Dimir Keyrune is an excellent target for your Cipher spells. It's unblockable and dodges any sorcery-speed creature removal. And the flavor of that play is quite excellent, too.

Oh, and Obzedat is just incredible. Seriously. At worst it's a 5/5 for 5 that drains for 2 when it enters the battlefield.

Dat Council...I was hoping he would still have his blinking effect. Guess if it aint broke dont fix it. Now Laz me thinks is more dangerous then ppl realise. If you are playing alot of straight up removal, the spells basicly become "who do I want Laz to be today?".

both amazing cards. hoping for an updated Teysa too for edh. the council seems pretty strong in standard i wouldnt doubt if it saw play. the clone guy is awesome too. nothing really new we have seen the art is awesome and looks delicious to build around

wait edit that, the clone guy becomes a copy when the creature goes into the grave from anywhere
so this means

play this guy
do some mulching
oh did i just mulch in a worldspine wurm?
profit

Please, please let Zegana be as solid as these two!

I can't imagine too many old Ghost Council EDH decks not wanting the new one instead...

Lazav will be fun in a Mimeoplasm deck, as well as his own.

loving how both Dimir previews today work so well with Cipher!

And Ghost Dad 2.0 is absolutely nuts!

Yeah we won't know for sure until they post the rules faq but I'm guessing that it'll stay encoded and trigger if it becomes a creature and connects again.

I'll likely give Lazav a try im Grimgrin.

Obzedat would be my pick if I wanted to build a new 2-color EDH deck.

I'm more excited about the fact that in the Obzedat spoiler article..Gavin makes a sample Esper control deck with 4 Dimir Charm and he says it's insane in that kind of deck.

I'm wet at the thought of the U/B charm being good.

So Lazav is an evil shapeshifter. I wonder if he's going to stir up trouble by using his abilities to pose as the other guild leaders.

Ridiculous. They give B/W this hard of a push with Obzedat, after they gave U/W the middle finger with Isperia, Supreme Jank.

What's next? Reprint unmake so they get instant speed unconditional removal too?

Wow, Ghost Council is insane. There's very little instant speed removal that can touch him, and he's beefy enough to get through most creatures. Almost makes me want to go Esper over Grixis...almost.

Hmmm Dimir Charm....Possible opponent reveals their hand and you choose a creature card for them to discard? Possible target player puts the top 3 cards of his or her library into their graveyard?
