Wow, thanks for this. Eldrazi Green should probably be called Tron though, Solar Flare's probably better under the Gifts title, and Project Melira is just Melira Pod.

Cheers

Nice.thread, though I think you need to add a lifegain agro deck to the list.

Thank you Lantern, and to you and the above posters, I fixed/am fixing the names as we speak, I have been doing the same thing in the Legacy portion for almost a year now however I am much less familiar with modern, especially compared to Legacy. In either case I figured I'd do one for Modern as well.

As for what's not on the list, I didn't post it if it didn't perform and make any top placings & I was expecting Martyr Proc to be on there somewhere, but somehow it hasn't shown up even once in the top 16 at these larger events since Oct-1st-2012, which sucks cause my modern deck is Martyr Proc, though mine is more controllish, has way more enchants (runed halo, faiths fetters, ghostly prison, Oblivion ring), & has red splash for Lightning helix, Searing Meditation, & Firemane Angel.

Just to point out, GW Hatebears has 2 top 16 finishes.

Kibler finished 14th at GP Chicago. I finished 10th at GP Toronto.

Thank you, I will be fixing that now, though it will take a few moments.

-edit- Oh I see what happened, you got noted as a "The Rock" deck, instead of "Hate Bears", I think thecouncil.es had the deck listed as "The Rock" forgive me on that. Either way, fixed, The Rock/Hate Bears noted accordingly. Also grats on your finish of course ^.^

I mean, every deck has its weaknesses.. but that's the only one that literally vanished from not only top8s but more in general tournament lists. I play it and win against everybody except Tron and Jund which is 40-60 MU. But, i think that's not enough to justify its completely vanishing...

How is Storm (#10 on the list) different from Past in Flames (#12)?

The difference is, the most dominate deck in the format plays 4 Deathrite in the main.

The cards you've given as examples are sideboard cards.

I disagree, it's most definitely a tempo deck.

Thank you so much for this, it is really amazing!

One suggestion though would be to add RUG Delver to the list; it is true that it has almost dissappeared from the metagame, but it's still a powerful strategy that unfortunately folds against Abrupt Decay and BBE card advantage.

I still play it and it rewards very tight play - it has a lot of 50/50 matchups and really few bad ones, unfortunately Jund being one of them.

Tarmogoyf, Delver and Snapcaster are always a fearsome combination (as you will certainly know being a Legacy player, no Mongoose here though :P) which I think will become good again with the Gatecrash Simic and Gruul goodies
