We have got the last entries for 2012, closing a very fruitful year for the artwork contests. Thanks to all of you for sharing this experience with us, and please stay and enjoy this 2013 too!
The challenge in December was:
"Take any card and alter it in any physical way you like (this includes 3d alters, painted alters, scratch/inked/relief alters, etc.) The only restriction you have is that you must provide us with the composer's name and the exact name of the song that inspired you to made your alter (please, clarify if it's a particular version of it.) Your entry's name will be that song's name, so take it in consideration when choosing your song, card and theme."
So... For a more pleasant experience, we invite you to listen the tracks online in order to stablish a deep connection with each artist and see what was his/her inspiration (there's a very popular site for videos, in wich you'll find all the songs with ease. ;))
IMPORTANT: The only purpose of chosing a song was to inspire artists to create their pieces. It's not necessary to find a logical connection between the song and the alter, so please don't make this a votation guideline.
We had 4 entries, and here they are:
" -hanna, Ship's Navigator">The song that inspired this piece was: "Blinding" by Florence & The Machine:
" -Pain's Reward-">The song that inspired this piece was: "Surfacing" by Slipknot:
" -Birds of Paradise-">The song that inspired this piece was: "Bird of Paradise" by Snowy White:
" -Trostani, Selesnya's Voice-">The song that inspired this piece was: "Gardyn" by Pogo:
Good luck everyone!

It's weird, cause I can see it perfectly. Can you see it now? I haven't changed anything, but may be you opened the thread while I was correcting a tag mistake in the main post.

I'm not seeing anything either (not even an "Invalid attachment specified...") when I use Firefox, and a not much more (an icon indicating a picture files is supposed to be there) when I try with Chrome. The rest work fine for me though.
I wanted to listen to the music before made my vote/s. But I want to say that Spade's piece pulled me in immediately. Such a soft, beautiful piece. Aaaand the music along side the piece, fits very well. Aeontropy's piece matches well with the song chosen. My eyes kept following the swirls during the song. Blackbull, I have been digging your work recently. I like the soft colors you get, almost a chalky look to your pieces. And you pair it with a 'garden tool making sounds' song, which follows the theme of your card. In the end, I decided to go with the piece that pulled my eye immediately, which is Spade's. Beautiful work everyone.
Thanks, guys. Now I've get connected from a friend's notebook and I can see what you say (not seeing my entry at all :p)
Fixed.
EDIT: Also, want to say that all pieces involved this month are very beautiful. It seems that music is the best muse for an alterist
I find "Surfacing" particulary shocking, because it made me find these hooks full of blood beautiful in some way. Also, I totally get what was probably the connection that Spade felt between the piece and the song. It feels like a breath of peace and fullfillment.
Great job, guys! It would be great to have you back next month.
Congrats to Spade for winning this round! Expect to be announced as our December's winner in the front page as usual, as well as your well earned cup to be delivered as soon as possible.
