It was at that moment that I realized: I'm kinda just making these things up. We can just write the rules the way we want them to work. People will have fun, and people will get it.

Some fantastic art so far, but one complaint: none of them are ROILING.
These are all relatively serene, funereal landscapes, but none of them convey a land so fraught with constant tectonic and mystical disturbances that it is literally spitting up bodies long buried.
Multiple instances of lifelink on the same creature are redundant.

I was feeling the same way until I realized how damn near impossible it is to find artwork like that. I mean, here we are applying an adjective almost exclusively reserved for liquids to a geological feature. Not that it isn't appropriate, just supremely difficult to find a decent representation.
That said, this picture might actually be decent enough for our purposes.

That was my fear as well. However, you seem to have hit the nail on the head. Unless something more appropriate presents itself, you, sir, have my vote.
I think we can declare total win with VikingIrishman's latest submission.
Move on to the next stage of the card?

The poll will be up within a day or two (just got back from a trip)
While I like VI's last submission, I can't help but enjoy his first submission more, it's less "roiling" but captures perfectly the mechanics of the card. Anyway, the poll will procede as normal.

"In the beginning, MTG Salvation switched to a new forum format.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."

Now its time for art submissions. A few things to keep in mind;
- This is a land, so the art should focus on a landscape or scene rather than on specific figures or actions
- This card is from Zendikar, so keep that in mind (no buildings, etc.)
As always remember to credit artists, and thumbs up the submissions you like.

He's died in 1837, so I guess the art is free to use.

The art looks good, but I am not sure how it looks on the card, as the picture is so black...
