Pender's Arena, a large hexagonal structure fashioned from dark mortared stone, can be found not even a hundred feet from the Old City docks. The building is wide, and easily a couple stories tall, accommodating a fighting pit rimmed with seating ten rows deep. The action within is a spectacle to behold, as battlemages from across the eastern world engage in combat with each other, eager to prove themselves.
Pender's also serves as a chapter of the Fraternity of Mages, offering free room, board, and meals to wandering members.
Kage makes his way to the arena seeking a room from his Fraternity. There he gets a warm meal and then retires to his room to tend to his various aches, pains, and lacerations.
Mage- Well, I don't think we've had anyone like that join up though the arena... I could find out if she joined elsewhere if you have a full name to work from.
**Gram wandered into the arena, looking for the archmage advertising now much he wanted strong people.**

Sing lustily and with good courage.
Be aware of singing as if you were half dead,
or half asleep:
but lift your voice with strength.
Be no more afraid of your voice now,
nor more ashamed of its being heard,
than when you sang the songs of Satan.
**Gram crossed his arms in front of him, eyeing the man unappreciatively.**
Gram - "You wanna find out?"

**Rolling his eyes, Gram empowered himself to mighty--to prodigious in his legs, actually--and attempted to lift whichever weight seemed most appropriate.**

Olus saw an imperious looking atarin mage sat in front of a stack of books and scrolls, a human mage in grey robes watching over two people trying to lift large metal balls and a group of younger mages who seemed to be attempting to catch each other's magical projectiles with varying levels of success.
Sari managed to pull the smallest weight up about knee height before she felt something pull in her back. She became acutely aware that if she didn't let go of the weight she would injure herself.
**Gram tossed the weight back down in front of him.**
Gram - "Good enough for you?"

Sari looked over the weights and found, to her annoyance, that all but the smallest looked like it would be too heavy for her to lift.
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
