So I've really wanted to make a standard deck based around Vexing Devil, but I felt like there just wasn't enough oomf until gate crash came out. Where I found out about the Extort mechanic.
I've play tested a few times and I notice that there's still times where I run out of gas if I'm playing long term games. However, the deck does tend to flow very smoothly when I am starting out. I need help with the sideboard and maybe a new 1 drop instead of the Eviction that will really game change the deck when I play it.
Some ideas for the one drop include: Havoc Festival, or Slaughter Games. But I'm not sure how well they both flow theoretically.
This is my pet project for the devil I've been working on. It seeks to get a early advantage using the devil and then to capitalize on it with strong midrange beaters
It just focuses on the interaction between Vexing Devil and the charms for 8 damage by turn 2 then by either using thundermaw or the "ghostrider" combination finish opponents
I was considering Boros Charm for double strike, but I don't think it's quick enough for my deck. I use that same thinking with Devil+Orzhov, but I lik being able to flicker my devil when someone uses say Mutilate. Plus being able to extort+cloudshift+obzedat multiple times you shift life swings so fast.
I'd also like to change the mana base since that's the most costly part of my deck and I'd like to keep it somewhat budget.
Ok main board is set and updated, what I'm really having trouble with is side boarding, I've only play tested against a few decks and I notice that I usually just kill fast and I don't know what exactly to side board in. Any tips much appreciated, as I'm not sure what troubles I'd really face.
