Creeping Mold has been a long-time cube staple, and while there was discussion back when bramblecrush came out about which one a given cube should run, I've not actually seen much discussion on the card. It always appeared to be a card that you were assumed to run. Well, I've been working on trimming my colour sections to allow for a small growth in multicolour, and Creeping Mold has caught my eye as potential cut.
My problem with the card is thus: In all the time that I've been cubing, I've never actually figured out what deck really wants this card.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

I like the card, and I'd run it if I supported a green LD package. But its time has passed in terms of its general value, and it's been outclassed by Bramblecrush (not strictly better, but better nonetheless).
Bramblecrush is an upgrade at the same casting cost since it can target Planeswalkers as well. I just ordered one to cycle Creeping Mold out of my cube. It is not strictly better because it can not touch Artifact creatures or man lands, but for me I think this is a better card in most situations.

The only time it wouldn't kill a manland is if they activated it in response to you targeting the land.

True!
I was just trying to think of situations where Creeping Mold does something Bramblecrush doesn't. For me, Bramblecrush gives green a planeswalker solution that I was missing
I agree with Bramblecrush as an upgrade. An aside: I find it funny that a bunch of plants can kill a planeswalker. What a waste of the planeswalker spark.
My problem is that I don't even see bramblecrush having a deck that it really wants to be in. It's not just creeping mold, but the duo that seems out of place. Like, when would you ever maindeck either card?

It's (not quite) a Vindicate in a color that can usually easily afford the extra mana.
I suppose if you 8 man booster or roto draft all the time, its value goes down a bit, but with answer slots at a premium when deckbuilding, being able to throw in an answer to Jace, Maze, Swords and Moat in one slot is sweet.
