I would like to thank you for being here. Any kind of advice/observation in this list is appreciated; just bear in mind that I don't operate on an infinite budget.
Initally I chose to build a 720 card list because I like variety, I have a large playgroup, and I wanted to be able to (if needed) run a 16-person draft or a 12-person team sealed. recently I cut down to 600 as I wanted a little more power and consistency and I only drafted with 16 people one time.
mrbrightside's Cube is intended to be a fun and diverse Limited environment, with powerful plays, mana fixing, and pretty cards available to everyone.

After several months of tinkering, this is my Cube list. This cube hasn't been tested yet, so I might still implement some changes before that (i.e., if you see something really egregious going on in here, please say so).
When you count color aligned cards like Crystal Shard in the section that matches their function not where their printed characteristics, it would make sense to apply this concept to the lands as well.

Akroma was (mostly) a placeholder for Angel, anyway. I want to test Withdraw and everytime I did a test draft af TappedOut, I looked at Capsize and thought "This looks a bit unfun. Why is this here?", so it looked like the obvious cut. My 8th Izzet card was tough, but I think I like the dragon more than I like the pinger. When I started to count lands in their respective color section, I looked at Crucible and facepalmed. The Township is probably a better fit for my GW section then Watchwolf. I was on the fence between the two green enchantments, but now I think the Sprawl might be better for my cube. Glaciers are glacially slow (pun intended), and I was able to trade for a Wasteland, so that was an easy swap.
I'm also trying to "seed" a sort of Rube Goldberg-type combo deck into my cube; more thoughts on that subject here.
The Pox/Stax archetype seems to be gaining traction in the cube community, and I think I (almost) have it implemented as well. I think adding Smallpox and Nether Traitor to my black section will be enough. Thoughts?
(I think) I know what to cut for each of these cards, but if I make the changes needed for all those archetypes as well, it might be a bit tough. I would like to hear your opinions.
I've made some adjustments to the list before the first draft; I cut some gold cards, eliminated the Hybrid section, and made some of the changes I hinted at in my previous post. The changes are:
I found these changes to be a mixed bag. I'll just discuss the ones I don't agree with; the rest is fine.
I like Knight of Meadowgrain and Kjeldoran Outpost more than Loyal Cathar, Twilight Shepherd, Descendant of Kiyomaro, and Harm's Way.
Capsize is slow but it really wins games in the control mirror. I like it more than Withdraw, Body Double, Mindshriker, and Compulsive Research, among other cards you are running.
Form of the Dragon is cool, but I think you should still find room for Bogardan Hellkite. I like it more than Form, Cunning Sparkmage, and, most especially, Hidetsugu's Second Rite. Ghitu Encampment and Mogg War Marshal are probably fine at this size. Urabrask, the Hidden, Flame Javelin, Magmaquake, and Chaos Warp are cuttable.
Much prefer Simic Charm to the Biomancer.
I like Ram-Gang more the Wolf Run or Burning-Tree Shaman (I think). I think Manamorphose is too weak to run unless you are trying to enable storm combo.
Runechanter's Pike looks unreliable. I'd rather see [c]Powder Keg[c] or [c]Zuran Orb[c] in that spot.

I really like the idea of the Second Rite and Chaos Warp, but I understand your point. I'll have to rethink this. BTW: could you elaborate a bit more about the War Marshal?

I agree it's unreliable, but I want to try. I will gladly cut it if it fails to perform.

Remember that if the aggro deck lets the game go long enough for a Capsize lock to come together, the aggro deck was likely going to lose anyway. I don't think those cards are that great at reanimator support.
I really like the idea of the Second Rite and Chaos Warp, but I understand your point. I'll have to rethink this. BTW: could you elaborate a bit more about the War Marshal? Second Rite is a wasted slot. It is highly unlikely to work. Warp is too variable for my taste. War Marshal isn't great, but he works nicely with sac effects, token decks, and Skullclamp. I use him to support Pox decks.

Taking in consideration my playgroup's opinion and the feedback I got here, these will be the final changes to the list before the 1st draft (taking place this saturday, I'll post a report!):
At 720, I'd probably consider Serum Visions. I'd probably cut Compulsion or Volition Reins instead (or Dream Halls which seems too clunky).
That's reasonable. I like Compulsion and Volition Reins, but I can see me cutting Dream Halls (or even one of the other, to be honest. I have to see them in action).
Nantuko Vigilante is a fine card, but I've decided to play zero morphs. Otherwise, it could be an inclusion.
I think you mean Worn Powerstone because Fractured Powerstone doesn't seem very good if your not cubing with Planechase.
No, I actually mean Fractured Powerstone (Worn Powerstone was already in the list). It's probably the worst mana rock in my cube, but I want to test it. It's just a mana rock with flavortext ;).
So, last Saturday I got together with some buddies to draft the cube. It was very nice to finally see the cube in action after spending months tinkering the list!
Everyone had a blast. During the draft, we all joked that nobody knew what they were doing, but eventually we build our decks, played them, and had a great time.
The draft was really fun and it gave me a lot of feedback about some cards (and some omissions) that I was missing. Everybody had a good time, said they enjoyed the list (even if the didn't like some individual cards), and said we had to draft again soon.

If you think about it, as your exceptions of the decklists Show aggro is not listed up anywhere.
That's true. But these are actually the decklists of only ONE draft. In the next draft, there were 2 aggro decks that performed quite reasonably.
A healthy cube Format should allow MonoR and White Winnie/Boros as strong contenders with naturally more 1- and 2 Drops than the other Colors.
Agreed.
I will look at the other Colors soon, but what you Need in White are more 1-2 drops and there are plenty you can choose. I will post you mine as soon I find time for it.
I'm not sure that I left out many good white 1-2 drops... but maybe I'm missing something. I would really appreciate your suggestions!
Some of the Cards in your list are not needed by aggro/nor by Tokens/nor by control, basically by no deck and they are too low at their power lvl if you compare them to other Cards at 4cc 5cc.
This might be true... could you give me some specific examples of cards in that category? It's helpful to have that outside perspective.
Anyway, my next update will be aggro-oriented, to try to address some issues I found with the list. I'll post it soon. As always, I am open to suggestions!
Some examples for cc4 and cc5 are: Angel of Jubilation; Calciderm; Galepowder Mage; Hokori, Dusk-Drinker; Karmic Guide; Archon of Justice

Both Archon of Justice and Galepowder Mage are probably cuttable. I like the cards, but I can see myself cutting them in the future. I want to test them for some time before deciding one way or the other.
I disagree with you about Karmic Guide; I believe it is a very sweet card, and has synergy with lots of other cube cards. Plus, I own a Judge Foil copy; how could anyone cut it?
I cut it because White has no Reanimation theme. Usually you Play reanimator in UB or mybe in BG, cant see it being so possible outside of those 2 Colors. And this would be the "only" place for angel imo.
But if you include Serra Avenger/Archangel you make things even worse. Avenger it is too situational. Archangel is m13 kiddie mythic rare Card. My Argumentation against it is the same as for Angel of Jubilation.
Karmic Guide gets run alongside Recurring Nightmare for a pretty nasty little combo. I'd also run it in WG ramp, UW and Bant blink, reanimator (white's got some great reanimation targets), or any white midrange deck. It helps you recover your own board after a Wrath or Balance. It's also pretty nice with Sneak Attack.
I agree that Serra Avenger and Sublime Archangel are not necessary, although I know very little about running a 720 card cube. You should check out Bondafong's list (an 810-card cube) for some ideas.

I agree with your assessments. I'm not sure if I know yet how to run a cube this size, but I'm sure getting an idea (hopefully :)).
I've checked bondafong's list a few times, and it was very useful. I would also recommend checking Kenny Meyer (darkmindtone)'s cube to anyone interested in large lists; he's also at 810, and he tries REALLY hard to make aggro viable across all colors.

Serra Avenger gets obsoleted by four drops by the time she hits play. As an aggro inclusion, it really needed to come down on turn two (or even three). Sublime Archangel was ridiculous and plays well in multiple archetypes. It gives you a nice boost the turn it enters play, and in raw damage output it can rival some cube six-drops, which reduces the need to run as many of those as we used to.
At higher cube sizes, you may see quite a bit more midrange and games can revolve around getting value from your four drops and five drops, rather than your six drops or seven drops as in the old style of dragon cubes. This may be a prevalent trend if you consistently draft with less than 16 players without fixing the contents of your packs - the quality of creatures in this casting cost range doesn't really drop off as much as in other ranges (like, say, one to two).

I'm aware that's a possibility. I am planning on testing it in the place of Angel of Jubilation, which was a disappointment. I'm thinking of it more as a "midrange" creature (albeit a small one). I may end up cutting it in the future.

This has been my experience so far. I think I'm OK with it. I'm still trying to give aggro some tools so it can compete - and right now I think this means some more redundancy to 1- and 2- drops.

Here are my updates for Dragon's Maze, Modern Masters and M14 (partial, still getting the cards). Since the last time, I decided to have a hybrid section, and restrict my gold cards to 7 in each color pair.
Exclude ---> Spell Snare
Powerful card for powerful card, but I believe this may be what my cube needs (plus, I foil MM Spell Snare... this is definitely one of the factors when deciding changes :D...)
I'm trying to give some additional support to aggro decks. I don't like cards like Carnophage and Vampire Lacerator, but they may be necessary. Opinions?
There are some M14 cards I'm still missing, I will gradually include them as I get them (Voice of Resurgence as well, but that may take some time :(). I'm not 100% sure of all the cards I cut, but I reserve the right to change my mind later. These changes are already implemented in CubeTutor, so if you would like to help me train my bots and get a feel of my cube, go ahead!
Yeah, I don't like the Huntmaster cut. It's easily in the top 4 best RG cards.
It is powerful indeed. In the last update(s), I tried to remove some midrange-y cards in order to make aggro decks a bit better, and the Huntmaster cut was one of them. (Plus, it was just a proxy, and I don't like to use proxys unless I absolutely had to, so that was also a deciding factor).
You may be right, though. Huntmaster is a powerful card and one that I like. I'll try to see if I can add it in again.

I like that you always try to suggest reasonable cuts; a few months ago, you suggested I cut Prison Term, and it got me thinking: "Indeed, this is a good card, but what is it doing here?" And I will replace it with Banisher Priest when I get one.
I think Carnophage and friends are absolutely necessary for black aggro decks.

I see you're running a few of the recurring black creatures. In my 500 card list, the "pox" deck has really gained some traction. Although, Pox isn't even the defining card of the deck nowadays in my cube. In fact Contamination, is the really sick card for that deck.
Since you're running some of the recursive creatures in black, might I suggest that you try out:
Pox Gravecrawler (along with a few zombie buddies like Carnophage, Diregraf Ghoul and Sarcomancy) Contamination (A severely underrated card on these forums. In the black recursion deck, it's basically a one sided armageddon.) Nether Spirit (like Bloodghast and Gravecrawler, really nice to Entomb for early to set up some shenanigans)

Akroma was (mostly) a placeholder for Angel, anyway. I want to test Withdraw and everytime I did a test draft af TappedOut, I looked at Capsize and thought "This looks a bit unfun. Why is this here?", so it looked like the obvious cut. My 8th Izzet card was tough, but I think I like the dragon more than I like the pinger. When I started to count lands in their respective color section, I looked at Crucible and facepalmed. The Township is probably a better fit for my GW section then Watchwolf. I was on the fence between the two green enchantments, but now I think the Sprawl might be better for my cube. Glaciers are glacially slow (pun intended), and I was able to trade for a Wasteland, so that was an easy swap.
Supporting archetypes:
What can I do to improve the Artifact Deck? Tezzeret 1.0 and Fractured Powerstone are going in. Is Tolarian Academy good in my list? Any other suggestions?
If I bring Academy Rector in, what else comes along? I'm thinking in Form of the Dragon, Debtors' Knell and maybe Yawgmoth's Bargain (Omniscience seems overkill). Is it worth it?
I tried to give plenty of support to the WW/Wx aggro deck; do I still need/want to add Celestial Crusader, Crusade, Brave the Elements, Hokori and even Kongming, "Sleeping Dragon"?
With 98% chance, I'm going to add Melira, Master Biomancer, Blasting Station and maybe Hex Parasite.
I'm also trying to "seed" a sort of Rube Goldberg-type combo deck into my cube; more thoughts on that subject here.
The Pox/Stax archetype seems to be gaining traction in the cube community, and I think I (almost) have it implemented as well. I think adding Smallpox and Nether Traitor to my black section will be enough. Thoughts?

I like Knight of Meadowgrain and Kjeldoran Outpost more than Loyal Cathar, Twilight Shepherd, Descendant of Kiyomaro, and Harm's Way.
Capsize is slow but it really wins games in the control mirror. I like it more than Withdraw, Body Double, Mindshriker, and Compulsive Research, among other cards you are running.
Form of the Dragon is cool, but I think you should still find room for Bogardan Hellkite. I like it more than Form, Cunning Sparkmage, and, most especially, Hidetsugu's Second Rite. Ghitu Encampment and Mogg War Marshal are probably fine at this size. Urabrask, the Hidden, Flame Javelin, Magmaquake, and Chaos Warp are cuttable.
Much prefer Simic Charm to the Biomancer.
I like Ram-Gang more the Wolf Run or Burning-Tree Shaman (I think). I think Manamorphose is too weak to run unless you are trying to enable storm combo.
Runechanter's Pike looks unreliable. I'd rather see [c]Powder Keg[c] or [c]Zuran Orb[c] in that spot.

Fair enough, I had some doubts as well. The Outpost just seems too slow for me; I might be wrong. I also like the Knight, but I really wanted to try the Cathar. Maybe if I cut Precinct Captain?
I know Capsize is good. But it just felt so unfun every time I was mockdrafting the list that I just cut it for Withdraw... The other cards are there to support Reanimator; I wanted a critical mass of effects.
I really like the idea of the Second Rite and Chaos Warp, but I understand your point. I'll have to rethink this. BTW: could you elaborate a bit more about the War Marshal?

At 720, I'd probably consider Serum Visions. I'd probably cut Compulsion or Volition Reins instead (or Dream Halls which seems too clunky).
I'd add Nantuko Vigilante over Oxidize.
I think you mean Worn Powerstone because Fractured Powerstone doesn't seem very good if your not cubing with Planechase.

That's reasonable. I like Compulsion and Volition Reins, but I can see me cutting Dream Halls (or even one of the other, to be honest. I have to see them in action).

That's true. But these are actually the decklists of only ONE draft. In the next draft, there were 2 aggro decks that performed quite reasonably.

I'm not sure that I left out many good white 1-2 drops... but maybe I'm missing something. I would really appreciate your suggestions!
This might be true... could you give me some specific examples of cards in that category? It's helpful to have that outside perspective.
Anyway, my next update will be aggro-oriented, to try to address some issues I found with the list. I'll post it soon. As always, I am open to suggestions!

Both Archon of Justice and Galepowder Mage are probably cuttable. I like the cards, but I can see myself cutting them in the future. I want to test them for some time before deciding one way or the other.
I disagree with you about Karmic Guide; I believe it is a very sweet card, and has synergy with lots of other cube cards. Plus, I own a Judge Foil copy; how could anyone cut it?
I agree with you regarding Calciderm and Angel of Jubilation (and thanks for the detailed report on both of them!). I was already planning on cutting them on the next update, respectively for Sublime Archangel and Serra Avenger.

Karmic Guide gets run alongside Recurring Nightmare for a pretty nasty little combo. I'd also run it in WG ramp, UW and Bant blink, reanimator (white's got some great reanimation targets), or any white midrange deck. It helps you recover your own board after a Wrath or Balance. It's also pretty nice with Sneak Attack.
I agree that Serra Avenger and Sublime Archangel are not necessary, although I know very little about running a 720 card cube. You should check out Bondafong's list (an 810-card cube) for some ideas.

I agree with your assessments. I'm not sure if I know yet how to run a cube this size, but I'm sure getting an idea (hopefully :)).
I've checked bondafong's list a few times, and it was very useful. I would also recommend checking Kenny Meyer (darkmindtone)'s cube to anyone interested in large lists; he's also at 810, and he tries REALLY hard to make aggro viable across all colors.

At higher cube sizes, you may see quite a bit more midrange and games can revolve around getting value from your four drops and five drops, rather than your six drops or seven drops as in the old style of dragon cubes. This may be a prevalent trend if you consistently draft with less than 16 players without fixing the contents of your packs - the quality of creatures in this casting cost range doesn't really drop off as much as in other ranges (like, say, one to two).

I'm aware that's a possibility. I am planning on testing it in the place of Angel of Jubilation, which was a disappointment. I'm thinking of it more as a "midrange" creature (albeit a small one). I may end up cutting it in the future.

This has been my experience so far. I think I'm OK with it. I'm still trying to give aggro some tools so it can compete - and right now I think this means some more redundancy to 1- and 2- drops.

It is powerful indeed. In the last update(s), I tried to remove some midrange-y cards in order to make aggro decks a bit better, and the Huntmaster cut was one of them. (Plus, it was just a proxy, and I don't like to use proxys unless I absolutely had to, so that was also a deciding factor).
You may be right, though. Huntmaster is a powerful card and one that I like. I'll try to see if I can add it in again.
That's fair. Yosei is non-negotiable for now (you know, MM foils...), but I can see cutting one of the other two cards. I like that you always try to suggest reasonable cuts; a few months ago, you suggested I cut Prison Term, and it got me thinking: "Indeed, this is a good card, but what is it doing here?" And I will replace it with Banisher Priest when I get one.
And you're not the first to suggest that... I'll have to seriously consider adding them.

I see you're running a few of the recurring black creatures. In my 500 card list, the "pox" deck has really gained some traction. Although, Pox isn't even the defining card of the deck nowadays in my cube. In fact Contamination, is the really sick card for that deck.
Since you're running some of the recursive creatures in black, might I suggest that you try out:
Pox
Gravecrawler (along with a few zombie buddies like Carnophage, Diregraf Ghoul and Sarcomancy)
Contamination (A severely underrated card on these forums. In the black recursion deck, it's basically a one sided armageddon.)
Nether Spirit (like Bloodghast and Gravecrawler, really nice to Entomb for early to set up some shenanigans)
