The MTGS Rules no longer allow for creating box maps. We felt that there was too much potential for abuse and we didn't want to support a practice that a lot of people use to rip off others. Learning about and understanding that box mapping is a thing can be important, but that can be done without actually creating the tools needed to filter through packs. We understand that a fair number of people map boxes for completely legitimate reasons, but there are enough that we are not comfortable allowing our site to be used for this practice. Thank you.

Did you know that you can know what rare/mythic you'll get before opening the booster pack? You can, and it's completely free! MTG Box Mapper Beta
Its now open-source! Join the community and help development of a better tool! https://github.com/killersinn/box-mapper.git
Access to git repository to contribute in this project
The project is still in Beta stage so please inform me if there's something wrong with it. Current features:
- New*: Manual Order Miscalculation Bug Fixed!!!
- Automatic sleeve ordering (seamless)
- Mapping
- Giving you track info and card prices
Note: Sorry for the restarts. May happen 1 to 5 times a day until beta version is matured.
-----------HOW-TO-USE-IT----------
First of all; if you are new to this concept, please search youtube for "GTC box opening" and use it as an input the data for self training before using the application for your own box.
1 to 8 boosters are enough for mapping if you know what you are doing.
The best methodology is:
First; put the cards on the table exactly as you pulled out of the box. Be careful and make sure you are not misplacing anything.

Go to box-mapper web site and enter the booster picture numbers. You can use the guide on the web site or you can use the last digit of the booster barcode. The barcodes should be like:
Important: Make sure you have entered booster picture numbering correct and exactly as you have taken it out of the box. This will calculate the factory scrambling / reordering if there is any.
If everything is right, press "Go!" button.
Randomly open the first pack, and enter the exact name of the rare to the place you have found it. Make sure the rest of the boosters are in correct order. Then press "Map it!" button.
It will give you possible track patterns like [AB] [ABC] [D]. If there is more than 1 letter in the brackets, that means there are that much possibilities.
i.e. [ACD] --> that booster may be in track A, B or C.
Try opening one of the multi - lettered one to ease process of locking to the pattern. Select and open that booster too (2nd booster). Again, enter the exact name of the rare to the place you have found it. Make sure the rest of the boosters are in correct order. Then press "Map it!" button.
This should lock you to the pattern and there should be no more multi letters. If there are any, open one of them. If there are not and everything is going as you have planned, there should be some possibilities listed on the screen.
After this, you need to try opening the best possibilities. Aim to open the best chance and aim for 2 boosters for each track (2 x A's, 2 x B's, 2 x C's and 2 x D's). If everything is going well you already should have some good rares. After opening each booster pack, enter the exact name of the rare to the place you have found it. Make sure the rest of the boosters are in correct order. Then press "Map it!" button.
Until the 8th booster, everything depends on luck and correctly selecting the best possibilities. After 8th, if you have done everything right as i explained, the rest of the box should be correctly mapped.

Answers for your questions:
In first page you need to set the sleeve numbers. This will sort the box to correct order. it is important to re-check before going to the next page.
After submitting your sleeve mapping, you will need to open some packs. The system will determine the track and queue, then give you predictions at a high accuracy.
If you want to determine your mapping with LEAST boosters, i highly recommend you to read the track and queue information after opening each booster. Try to open from different tracks before the full mapping is created.
It requires 8 boosters for the full mapping but it will help you open the best ones after 2nd or 3rd.
Edit: You can try pre-opened boxes at http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=482863 (or other source) to make sure its working.
Edit: It is for USA printed version only. DO NOT try and waste boosters on other editions and/or languages.
First of all, sorry for restarts. Its on beta stage and i am fixing reported issues asap.
I will open the source code of this project so that everyone interested can join and improve it. So the answer is yes. If wizards don't make some heavy changes on their printing and packaging environment, it will. And again, for free
Thank you for attempting this, but I have a few questions.
1. The first page it appears you just enter 1-5 based on the wrapper image number, but the numbers you seem to be assigning on the sleeves are different than what is in the main thread:
On your page you are listing Boros Guildmage as 5. Any reason for this?
2. On the second page are you just expecting text input of the actual rare names? How many boxes need to be filled before it comes up with a prediction for the remaining slots?

2. Yes, the text input of rare names are required. I recommend you to test it with pre-submitted boxes to fully understand its usage, but to answer your question; i can say that it will require 2 booster per track, and there are 4 tracks, therefore full prediction will be achieved after opening 8 boosters. But it will start predicting right after entering the first one.

There's not much of an auto-correction, the application only understands uppercase and lowercase differences. Try to write the exact name as its written on the card.
I've forked the project and begun to take a look at it. How committed are you to JBoss? I think JBoss AS might be too heavyweight for this project and a simple Tomcat deployment would work just as well (with the benefit of being more portable). OpenShift supports deploying a Spring-based webapp to Tomcat so shifting to that would facilitate unit testing.
I am using jboss a.s. but a tomcat will be just fine. There's no need for a heavy-weight server for it.
Before i published the project on web, the stand-alone version worked on tomcat server without any problems.

Comments would be nice on the code (esp. since I don't program in Java)
BTW, does anyone have any information on pack removals? I still don't understand 100%.
There are 3 types i've seen.
1. removing from stack,
2. replacing the pack with another (position is the same)
3. insertion
This is done to make sure boxes are evenly distributed. Thus, the removed / replaced / inserted booster either makes the box distinctly better than others, or the opposite, it makes the box distinctly worse than others.

When the 2 is removed, does the card that's supposed to be in that position stay the same? Or does the card become "missing" and the rest of the cards continue on? (latter case is much harder to program, I think)
EDIT: Example,
Your card list was originally
Card 1 Card 2 Card 3
Card 4 Card 5 Card 6
Card 7 Card 8 Card 9 ...
And the sleeve order is
524 413 <- the 2 was missing

1. For numbering, as long as you give a distinct number to every different picture, it will work. In short;
Boros Guildmage: 1
Vizkopa Guildmage:2
Prime Speaker Zegana: 3
Skarrg Guildmage: 4
Duskmantle Guildmage: 5
works as good as
Boros Guildmage: 5
Vizkopa Guildmage:3
Prime Speaker Zegana: 4
Skarrg Guildmage: 2
Duskmantle Guildmage: 1
or
Boros Guildmage: 5
Vizkopa Guildmage:4
Prime Speaker Zegana: 3
Skarrg Guildmage: 2
Duskmantle Guildmage: 1
or anything that you see fit, that are numbered distinctively. So no worries.

1. removing from stack,
2. replacing the pack with another (position is the same)
3. insertion
This is done to make sure boxes are evenly distributed. Thus, the removed / replaced / inserted booster either makes the box distinctly better than others, or the opposite, it makes the box distinctly worse than others.
Example:
352 --|
241 |
135 |
524 |
413 <-|
241
---
413 --|
135 |
524 |
413 | -> 2 is missing (removed)
135 |
524 <-|
My mapper detects the above condition. But replacement / insertion is problematic and must be done manually.
EDIT: Example,
Your card list was originally
Card 1 Card 2 Card 3
Card 4 Card 5 Card 6
Card 7 Card 8 Card 9 ...
And the sleeve order is
524
413 <- the 2 was missing
135
What is the card in the bold space now?
