I'll post pictures soon. But please take a look at it and tell me what you think!
Overally, my Cube is very graveyard focus. It is also very tempo oriented. I love people playing Magic. So a lot of my cards have flashback. Are cantrips. Work from the graveyard. Draw you more cards. Create a lot of threats. Are recursive. I like this because that means you are always able to do something during your turn. Games are very very interactive. There are a ton of choices at each moment of every game. And that's why I like it. It's a very Spike-y Cube.
There's something to be said about a cube that doesn't necessarily create the "most powerful environment, but with a flat power level" (which is what I try to do), but instead creates "the most interesting environment".
Still, I wouldn't be caught dead cubing flying men, but I would probably enjoy playing this cube.

Still, I wouldn't be caught dead cubing flying men, but I would probably enjoy playing this cube.
Flying Men isn't that bad! >> He helps with Ninja of the Deep Hours, Favorable Wings, and decent with Auras! He's not the best by any means, but he's totally playable in the right deck. (Though, I have an obsession with my 1/1 for C that fly!)
Homocidal Seclusion is bonkers! It's just as powerful in Avacyn Restored as it is here. It really works in a control decks. It's a way to stabilize behind a single creature and really let your card advantage engine just shine.
Those two cards were in previous versions. And might find their way back in. I just finalized the Cube. (It's all foil or promo or has cards (about 4) that I'm going to get altered!!!) And with that, just reworked some sections and numbers and changed some fixing with the Guildgates. I removed Vivid Crag and Vivid Marsh because I didn't want red to have access to that fixing, and wanted black to focus on more swamp matters cards. I found that I had too much fixing.
I know Gemstone Mine is more of an aggressive card. So I might see where I can fit that in. Is Mirrodin's Core better than Shimmering Grotto?
Easily, without question. Unless you're tapping out literally every turn. It's like a vivid land that can come in untapped if you need colorless mana now.
Thanks for sharing your cube. You definitely have some off-beat choices (at least compared to my cube, heh), so here are some assorted thoughts:
WHITE
How's Suture Priest working for you? I've thought about adding it to support extort & Blood Artist in Orzhov decks.
Have you considered Griffin Guide to support your white auras theme?
BLUE
No Cloudfin Raptor? Seems like a great card for your tempo/skies themes.
BLACK
Any reason why both Rakdos Cackler and Shred-Freak are both in black? I'm down with sticking hybrids in their own or mono sections, but wouldn't it make more sense to stick one in black and the other in red for balance?
Your red section seems light on 3-drops relative to more expensive cards, even after factoring in that the morph and bloodrush guys aren't going to be real 4-drops much of the time. Fire Imp is probably the strongest one you're not running.
Speaking of your red 3-drops, Brimstone Mage seems like it takes a lot of time and mana to get decent value. Has it played better than it looks for you?
GREEN
You seem very light on green mana dorks compared to most other cubes. Do you just not like them or feel they don't fit your green section?
Six mana for Citanul Woodreaders seems like a lot for a 1/4, even factoring in the double draw - compared to Phyrexian Gargantuan it just seems very weak. Green has some of the best 6+ mana creatures, making it seem even more underwhelming.
A lot of us have found Crocanura to be a stronger green 3-drop from Gatecrash than Slaughterhorn. A 3/2 is just kind of awkward in green and the color has better giant growth effects.
Chamber is actually pretty powerful. It helps with my Madness theme and all of that as an instant discard outlet. But it does so much more. Your opponent must attack with all of their creatures from now on because if they don't, you just steal one and block. At worst, it is a poor man's Maze of Ith that combos with sacrifice abilities.
Riptide is fine. I like morphs a lot. So that's another reason why it's in. But it helps with the Madness and graveyard thing. Plus, it has this cool of benefit of being Ancestral Recall if you have no cards in hand!
And I was close to adding the Skaab. I think I'm going to see how my Cube plays out for a bit. But it's a card I'm thinking about, especially with Modern Masters coming up soon.
I like the Creeper because it's free and splashable. But Nezumi Graverobber definitely needs to come in. Possibly the Wretch too. I love me a Gutless Ghoul. But I do think it might need to become the Husk. Or I need to find room for the Husk.
Give red aggro something to do at the 3 cc spot! Skirk Volcanist is not my favorite card.
Did not realize my 3 drop slot was so empty...
Yes to Forbidden Alchemy. Just give dimir an extra card if you can't bear to cut a fixer.

I love the Priest for so many reasons. But it really helps the Orzhov bleed deck! I think it's great.
And Griffin Guide! I think I have to find room for it.
BLUE

BLACK
Any reason why both Rakdos Cackler and Shred-Freak are both in black? I'm down with sticking hybrids in their own or mono sections, but wouldn't it make more sense to stick one in black and the other in red for balance?
They're in this section because it was where I could fit them. I wanted them in the Cube, but wanted more Rakdos cards. So instead of not putting in a Rakdos card I wanted it, I just cut my least favorite black or red cards. Turns out, I liked my red cards more.
I'll try out the Servitude!
RED
Your red section seems light on 3-drops relative to more expensive cards, even after factoring in that the morph and bloodrush guys aren't going to be real 4-drops much of the time. Fire Imp is probably the strongest one you're not running.
Speaking of your red 3-drops, Brimstone Mage seems like it takes a lot of time and mana to get decent value. Has it played better than it looks for you?
Fire Imp is a card I really want to play. It just needs to be reprinted with correct wording. I want people to know that if you reanimate it, it deals damage!
But I didn't realize I was so bereft of 3 drops until you two pointed it out. It's something I plan on fixing my next update.
And Brimstone will probably be cut soon. I like it a lot because it's beefy for a pinger. I can block, kill something in combat, and then kill something else. But it's performance varies.
GREEN
You seem very light on green mana dorks compared to most other cubes. Do you just not like them or feel they don't fit your green section?

Or rather, just tell me what you think some of my weaker cards. I have an order coming in with about thirty more cards, and I have no clue what I'm going to cut for them. >>
If I had to pick the few weakest cards in each color... wile trying to respect your themes
White
Ask yourself if the soul sister archetype works or not
Whipcorder could probably be benalish trapper if you want this effect at this cost. WW is whack.
Ask yourself if kabira vindicator ever anthems. And by ever I mean at least 60%.
Does war-priest of thune regularly hit echantments? I mean like 25-30%.
How consistent is changeling hero at being part of why you won a game?
Blue Ask yourself how often dream stalker is a force for good, since we have walls if it's not doing cool things.
I think hands of binding is far far far far worse than narcolepsy. Requires you to be aggro and lucky.
How often is coastal piracy drawing you 4 or more cards? If the answer isn't 51%, it's worse than concentrate. And since I assume you're losing 50% of your games (and that this card doesn't help when you're losing) odds don't look so good from here.
Black Does Ragamuffyn ever draw 2 or more cards? Because being that much worse than phyrexian rager is cringe-worthy.
Innocent blood. You have far far far too many 1 drops to make this card useful. And I hate this card in general.
You have the red affinity guy in with the black cards.
Red
Kird ape isn't red
Unless battle rampart is consistently hasting fatties, it's not worth it.
Scorchwalker costs too much to pump.
Do you ever hit 8 for hearthcage giant? does it constantly not make the maindeck?
Faithless looting. Nah, I'm playing with you this card is nuts.
If Street spasm isn't overloading often, it's not worth it.
Green
Does lambholt elder ever flip?
How consistent is changeling titan at winning games?
If Maul splicer isn't seriously being incredible, it isn't worth it.
How often is triumph of ferocity drawing 3 or more cards? How often is it dead?
Other
It's hard to tell because of the nature of the card, but is judge's familiar disruptive? If not, there are higher impact cards that belong here.
If branching bolt isn't a 2-for-1 a lot (I mean literally half of the time), it's got to be something else.
Or rather, just tell me what you think some of my weaker cards. I have an order coming in with about thirty more cards, and I have no clue what I'm going to cut for them. >>
Made a list of all the cards I don't really like hope it helps at all, glad to answer questions about why I dislike any of them.
I'll talk more about your choices or nominations or questions about cards to cut later. It let me have a lot to think about. (Also, just after you posted this, my brother drew 10 cards off a Coastal Piracy. Thanks, Loot-il Kor.
But my brother and I drafted again, today, and it was awesome. The Soul Sister's archetype works. I honestly just love that Ajani combo so much. >> It also works well as a counter to all the Phyrexian Mana cards I have as well.
I'm thinking of adding 1 card to each color to make it an even 450. Thoughts?
If you could add 1 card to each color, what would it be?
Also, one of the archetypes I think I'm going to end up cutting is the Exalted theme. It takes a lot of cards, and just doesn't really come together all that often. I really like it when it works, but I think I might be able to get something a little different with all those spots.
I'm noticing that aggro/midrange is really the only way to go in my Cube. Control is really difficult. I'm trying to make the overall CMC of my Cube higher, and trying to give control more tools.
Now come the switches.
Kabira Vindicator becomes Hypochondria. I really love Level up cards because of the skill and intricacies involved with playing them. Using them successfully is a really hard thing to do. However, I really want to see what Hypochondria can do. It gives control some tools (it makes combat really difficult for opponents) and gives white it's first madness outlet and graveyard enabler, which I feel it needs really badly.
Fume Spitter becomes Tormented Soul. I never felt Fume Spitter did what black control decks wanted to, and really felt bad in aggro black decks. This switch also helps my exalted theme, bloodthirst theme, looter theme, and aura theme. One card that helps many archetypes? Absolutely!
Diabolic Tutor becomes Haunted Crossroads. The tutor was almost always absolute garbage. Specifically because of how I design my Cube and how it plays out, it usually is never worth 4 mana to get the best card in your Cube. It never made main decks because it was slow and unexciting. The Crossroads does a lot. It helps with graveyard shenanigans and adds another madness enabler... which is important because...
Skittering Skirge becomes Dark Withering. This is probably a temporary cut because I really like what the Skirge does for aggro, and I have a lot of ways to make creatures without casting creature spells. However, I wanted something that helped the madness archetype and another pinpoint removal. There are a lot that are probably "better" but I'll see how this works.
I like it. I think it has a lot evasion, pretty good removal, and great two drops. I think it could use one more 1 drop. Maybe the Eidolon should be in the main deck?
And right now I'm in the midst of changing the Cube from Peasant to Peasant+. I think I adding some rares and mythics can help increase the consistency of different archetypes while not increasing the overall power level of the Cube, and I think that's an important distinguishing factor.
A couple little maindeck/sideboard selections aside, I like the deck overall. One question I have is, how good has Dawnglare Invoker been? I get the desire to have something to spend your mana on when you get to eight, but I can't imagine that coming up all that often in white.
I like the Invoker. It's not great, but as an aggro 2/1 flyer, it gets the job done as an attacking creature. Not as efficient as the Pegasus, but she works.
What she does really well is help aggro against stalemates. There are times as a control deck, I've clogged the board with big creatures, but they're always being tapped down and I'm getting attack for lethal. So she gives aggro inevitability. It's more relevant than you think. And she can also be use if you're a more controlling mana ramp type deck too.
My black has a lot of reanimation effects, and I've played her about three times in one game. My opponent had to kill her because she would let me win, and I kept on getting her back for those same reasons!
I like this because it showcases one of the reasons why I love my "bad" one drops like Flying Men and Essence Warden. When you have a Ninja or Ordeal or another great Aura, they become fantastic!
You can view the list here: clicky!

Haha yeah, you've got suntail hawk/lantern kami/scryb sprites in there too. Do you man.
Chamber of Manipulation and Riptide Survivor are both goofy. How are they doing for you? And how is Circular Logic? If you need more blue discard - and who doesn't - I'd toss in Careful Study, Thirst for Knowledge, maybe Cephalid Sage. Depending on how far you want to push graveyard matters Solvedi Sage is an extremely odd look. Also I like stuff like Armored Skaab.
Crypt Creeper was way better when combat damage was on the stack. Withered Wretch or Nezumi Graverobber? I think Gutless Ghoul wishes it were Nantuko Husk. I just put more unearth creatures in my gy focused cube and they are niiice.
Give red aggro something to do at the 3 cc spot! Skirk Volcanist is not my favorite card.

Diabolic Servitude is the main black staple you seem to be missing. I'd run it over Morbid Plunder if it were me.
RED
Your red section seems light on 3-drops relative to more expensive cards, even after factoring in that the morph and bloodrush guys aren't going to be real 4-drops much of the time. Fire Imp is probably the strongest one you're not running.

Why Kozilek's Predator over Nest Invader?
I just love how... I don't know. It's a problem. But they work and aren't completely awful.

I love the Priest for so many reasons. But it really helps the Orzhov bleed deck! I think it's great.

Woodreaders is good because it can also play defense early on. It's really flexible.
Crocanura can and definitely will be added.
I didn't need two drops that badly and the Predator works better in the bigger ramp deck than Invader. But it's something that might be changing soon.
Thanks y'all! This is really helpful and awesome. You rock.
So... Let me ask you this.
What are good red 3 drops?
And I've had decent success with Ghost-lit raider lately

Galvanic Blast BECOMES Ogre Arsonist
Ingot Chewer BECOMES Viashino Slaughtermaster
Flameshot BECOMES Blood Ogre
Torch Fiend BECOMES Reckless Waif
Arc Trail BECOMES Ghost-Lit Raider
Rift Bolt BECOMES Chandra's Spitfire
Oxidda Scrapmelter BECOMES Fire//Ice REMOVED FROM IZZET
Izzet Chronarch ADDED to IZZET
Copper Myr BECOMES Arbor Elf
Guardian of Cloverdell BECOMES Jungle Lion
Kozilek's Predator BECOMES Elves of Deep Shadow
Citanul Woodreaders BECOMES Lambholt Elder
Shuko BECOMES Dread Statuary

Those removal spells were not living up to anything. And the gold cards were replaced by better ones. Well, Assault Zeppelid is basically all upside.
I just added 15 cards here. I couldn't find cuts I wanted. I think adding a lot of Auras will help white's minor Aura theme.
