Default [TS] Dralnu the Lich Lord (Updated), Tivadar of Thorn and other tidbits...

Greetings my rumor brothers and sisters, Great day for more news huh?

[officialHydrodisclaimerincaseWOTCasks]

More info coming in and cross rererenced against multiple people... This time a couple of sweet legends and some other tidbits on individual cards:

Updated with newer info... not so great now

Dralnu, Lich Lord (Name not 100%)
3ub
Legendary Cretaure - Zombie (Wizard?)
Tap: Target Instant or Sorcery card in your graveyard has Flashback cost equal to its converted mana cost until end of turn. (Wording not 100% but ability is certain)
Whenever Dralnu Lich Lord is dealt damage, sacrifice that many permanents.
3/3
Rare.

Tivadar of Thorn
1ww
Legendary Creature - Human Knight
First Stike, Protection from Red.
When Tivadar of Thorn comes into play, Destroy Target Goblin.
2/2
Rare.

And a couple of tidbits on other cards:

There's a 'Juzam-like' rare Sliver...!!!

There's a Spiketail creature, bigger than the hatchling, but smaller than the drake... (Guess what he does)

White gets a "Vindicate on Legs" for 1WW...

More to come soon. Feel free to discuss, but keep everything on-topic please!

Wow. Dralnu is like a Recoup on a body. You don't even need to pay U for Ancestral Recall, just 1. Whether or not he's playable, I dunno, but he's awesome.

Trying to imagine how the Juzam Sliver would work. It would be clever if it made all your slivers do damage to you each turn, but I wonder what bonus it would have to grant to make that worth while?

Dralnu is basically Yawgmoth's Will on a stick, isn't it? Except of course he can't get your permanents back for you. It can't be converted cost, or you'd be able to flashback your Ancestral Visions for free.

wow. dralnu is... wow. awesome ability. horrible drawback. making everysingle instant and sorcery reusable once at the price of risking up to 3 permanents? sounds ok to me. it's priced about right too. this'll be a bomb in limited, whether or not it sees constructed play is a coin-flip. i'd liek to think so, but i have no eye for these things. i'd rather hear other people's opinons on the matter.
as for tivadar... meh. unless their are a substantial amount of goblins, he;s nothing more then a red hoser. it would seem that he hsould have flanking, being a knight... but w/e.

so dralnu taps to cast Yawgmoths Will? I'm thinking there has to be some kind of cost associated with that in addition to just tapping him. The phyrexian negator drawback alone isn't quite enough IMHO.

I love both cards though Dralnu seems a little vunerable. Woo the knight is the ultimate pwnface of goblin decks everywhere!

Id say the knight might see play in Extended/Legacy where real goblin decks still live.

Darlnu is a crapshoot hes very vunerable and not doing anything until your next turn is kinda sad especially with that draw back. Id say most likely if he does see play it will be in a very specific combo use otherwise no.

I guess if Dralnu's second ability isn't "Sacrifice that many permanents instead"

Here is my guess on the sliver:

Juzam Sliver 2bb
All slivers get +2/+2 and "During your upkeep, this deals 1 damage to you."
3/3

i figured this warranted a second post, my apologies if an mods would disagree...

how would dralnu interact with spells with suspend, specifically the costless ones? by all definitions, he should allow you to play them from your graveyard for their cmc... which is , right? or am i misinterpreting that? if so... that's nuts.

Yawgwin on a body eh? Well, almost. And without the whole RFG things that hit the GY normally thing. And you can lose more than 3 permanents - if he's Shocked then Chared or Psionic Blasted, you lose a total of 6 permanents. Of course a massive Demonfire would also cause you to lose X permanents.

Tivadar is pretty much as expected. A Silver Knight with a grudge on Goblins. Of course in the current environment a White Knight is probably better.

Edit: Well spotted with CMC rather than mana cost. As stated you can flashback the costless cards for .

Guess thats not too ridiculous but really most sliver decks only have 3-5 out so its not like that life loss is really gonna wreck said sliver player.

Sweet Zombies.
With that ability, id say dralnu is a wizard, and if thats how he's written, it stands to reason he'll be played somewhere as burn is less common in every format that isnt t2.

Good score hydro

Yay for Dralnu! This is a card that is worth the master of necromancy, and implanting the "lich" clause in this way is very nice.
A bit vulnerable, yes, and a bit risky, but it's worth it, IMHO.

I have silently hoped for Tivadar's ability like "Sac: Destroy all Goblins", but this is also flavorful.

Great work, James!!!!

So does Dralnu let you play No Mana Cost Instants and sorcercies for free?

And Tivadar of Thorn is awesome. Basically more Paladin en-Vec 5-8. If you're so inclined to run them.

Oh, just realised. Dralnu's name can't be Lich Lord and he has the drawback. Lich only appears in the orb once. Creature type, maybe?
