Default [TS] Kaervek & Mangara: Mirage legends now cards...

[OfficialHydrodisclaimerincase...OH you know why]

Some more info affirming a couple of rumors from multiple anon peoples/informers/squirrels: This is the last bit of info I'm able to post before going to bed, and getting much needed sleep... (Trust me I'll be dreaming about a certain couple of cards *yet to be revealed/cross-referenced* for sure... )

Kaervek (of Bogardan?)
5br
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Whenever an opponent plays a spell, Kaervek deals damage equal to the converted mana cost of that spell to it's controller. (Wording tricky, but this is what he does...!)
5/4
Rare.

And his arch-rival:

Mangara (of Corondor)
1ww
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard
Tap; Remove Mangara (of Corondor) from the game: Destroy target permanent.
1/1
Rare.

This is the card I hinted at before... Vindicate is back... in White!

Enjoy, my brothers. I'm off to bed now, G'night, and we'll be sure to have more tomorrow or sometime even sooner!

Mangara is awesome. Vindicate is back
Shame the other one costs 7. Maybe usable in solar flare post rotation?

Mangara is fragile little bugger, but definitly playable. Wizards is doing a masterful job pushing/breaking the color pie.

Mangara of Condoror? Try Mangara of AWESOME! Naturally the lack of haste and the small body hurts it slightly, but I'm willing to give it a chance!

Kearvek seems destined to hose Dranlu. Weird...

And the sweetest thing for a flavor lover comes last... .

Welcome back, friends. Both of them are quite nice.
I am surprised by Mangara in white after seeing his pic, but seeind Kaervek to be indeed, it is logical that Mangara is of the color of the common enemy of these colors.

Weird, despite the recent ask wizards indicating that BG was the Vindicate colors now.

Oh well, nice info Hydro.

Thrrawnkkar was right...WoG is White.

Now I see why they wanted to keep her in the Amber Prison (ref)- something like an Icy wouldn't be enough to stop that ability.

Edit: Squall, you're going to have to change that bit of your sig - it's no longer correct.

Mangara is quite crappy in constructed. It's a lot better in limited, but still not that hot.

Mangara is a MAN. *sigh*

It is nice to see Kaervek hurting only opponents.

So, what legends are yet uncovered? Stonebrow, Ib Halfheart, Saffi Eriksdotter and Norin the Wary, if I am not mistaken...

Seal of Vindicate looks nice - and fits the concept of allowing powerful cards, but only with the drawback of being creatures who need to tap. Good design all in all.

Kaervek. /sigh. I don't like him. Too swingy. He randomly ends limited and casual games unless the opp has spot removal. He's not interactive enough, and doesn't really test skill. Reads too much like something you see on a 'create your own cards' forum.

Maybe if it was...

Rt: Kaervek deals damage equal to 2 plus target spell's cmc, to that spell's controller.

...this would potentially allow more interesting and interactive hijinks with untapping, plus introduce some bluff and double bluff possibilities. Then move him down to a 2/3 and all that would allow them to move the mana cost down to something practical.

Kaervek costs A LOT! But he is also a monster. 5/4 body and deals damage whenever an opponent plays a spell? I'd want a pair of lotuses and/or signets just to get this guy out earlier.
The vindicate on a stick is good, but its basically another "kill me I'm dangerous" creature with a weak body.

I figured Mangara would be... bigger than that. Why does he have RFG as part of his ability instead of sac? Not even Mindslaver has RFG, and it can be welded.

Kaervek does live up to his art and his infamy, though. Badassery all around.

Both cards are very nice in limited, and have at least some constructed value.
Not having haste and being double white are a downside for mangara, I don't know if she'll have a spot somewhere (for the same cost you can have Tivodor and Paladin-En-Vec)

Kaervec seems like a nice reanimation target. He can still die from a few spells like sudden death and char, but he's black (so no terror like things) and he can survive most burn. I think he's more multiplayer material then constructed, but we'll see.
