Also see: Chrysagros, the Gilded Fields; Flamoros, the Ashen Peaks; Elosapios, the Foul Glade; and Lampdasos, the Glint Woods.
Limnitranos, the Great Lake, is the blue country in the plane of Palouranos. It's home to the most brilliant thinkers Palouranos has ever seen, who form the Council of Philosophers. The Council are a selective group who have been trying to find the answers to the absence of the gods, and trying to shape the world's future. Limnitranos's capitol is Noimos, a portuary city. Located in Noimos is the country's wonder to the Sea God, the Lighthouse of the Great Lake, a beacon which has been guiding the many seafaring adventurers born in the country. Lake Limnitranos, which gives the country's name, takes most of its area. Many mysteries roam in the Great Lake, and many beasts lurk in its mist. Lake Limnitranos is populated by limnades, the lake-nymphs. But they are not the only kind of nymphs in the country: there are also the oceanids (sea-nymphs) and naiads (river-nymphs), but limnades are the only ones able to fly. Cards: Noimos Legendary Land (R) T: Add U to your mana pool. At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control at least one basic land, and if all basic lands you control are islands, you may have each player draw a card. Noimos Philosopher - 1UU Creature - Human Townsfolk (C) 1/1 At the beginning of each turn's upkeep, draw a card unless an opponent pays 1. Chrome-Iris Oceanids - 2U Creature - Nymph (U) 2/2 T: Choose one: Target nonland permanent becomes the color of your choice until end of turn; or target land becomes the basic land type of your choice until end of turn. Fog-Hair Oceanids - UU Creature - Nymph (R) 2/1 Whenever you play a blue spell, you may return Fog-Hair Oceanids to its owner's hand. Metheos's Map Maker - 2UU Creature - Human Sailor (R) 2/3 When Metheos’s Map Maker comes into play, choose a basic land type. Amity - Creatures you control have landwalk of the chosen type. (This card has amity as long as all nonland, nonartifact permanents you control share a color with it.) Chromatic Filter - 2U Enchantment When Chromatic Filter comes into play, choose a color. Whenever a player plays a spell of the chosen color, sacrifice Chromatic Filter and counter that spell. Scylla of the Great Lake - 7U Legendary Creature - Beast (R) 4/5 U, Discard two cards: Counter target creature spell. Infuse - When Scylla of the Great Lake comes into play, return all other permanents to their owners' hands. (This card is infused if you spent only blue mana to play it.) **In Greek Mythology, Scylla was the most beautiful of nymphs who, due to the anger of the sorceress Circe, had the bottom half of her body transformed into a six-headed monster. She became a terrible beast of the sea ever since. Card images, ev'ryone!

Noimos - Better than the others, in that you won't always want to use the ability, but still, why not have the option?
Fog-Hair Oceanids - A little fast and aggressive for a blue creature, I think. Metheos' Map-Maker - It may seem like a good encouragement for monocolor decks at first, but if you think about it, the ability doesn't really care whether a person runs one land type or many, and in fact many may be better, as it would be easier to get rid of them all if the Map-Maker becomes a real problem. It's because you can choose the lands. So, I suggest a fix, albeit a bit of an expensive one: make a complete 5-card cycle. One Map-Maker for each land type. This would encourage monocolor playing, as a monocolor deck would be less likely to get "hit" by a random Map-Maker; and it would also assuage my concerns about this card's power level (similar objection to your other Amity cards: it's just too easy). Maybe just two Map-Makers: one for mountainwalk and one for forestwalk. Chromatic Filter - This the obligatory theme-hoser? Not bad. Scylla - Ouch. That's what you call ability synergy. The image of Scylla being in a mere lake bothers me for some reason, but that's hardly a crippling objection.

Noimos - I like this cycle.
Noimos Philosopher - Oooh, nice. Chrome-Iris Oceanids - Sure. Fog-Hair Oceanids - Cool. Metheos's Map Maker - This seems partly green to me for some reason. Maybe it's just me, but to me green seems like a landwalking color. Maybe it's just me being weird. Chromatic Filter - Yayness. Scylla of the Great Lake - Ooh, I likes. |

On Map Maker: Note that amity here is somewhat restrictive: you will only be able to attack unblocked with blue creatures, and blue creatures tend to be somewhat sucky.
On Scylla - This has also had its cost upped to 8U, like Hydra of the Ashen Peaks. Ah, playtesting season. Thanks for the comments this far!

I really like how this set is turning out. However, there is a minor problem:
Krosan Warchief and Mistform Warchief = teh borken. When you can drop a walking 4/5 upheaval + remove soul on turn 5 or so.... Creature types need to change. Might I suggest going with Tidal Kraken's "Monster" type? |
