Sir Karn, was the vote on swishh random? If so, why put in what looks like a line of reasoning behind the vote?
Hello.
Not Random != Not Silly
I notice that you're asking me about that, while The Most Curious Thing also put down a vote with "what looks like a line of reasoning", and you didn't say anything about it.
If cat emoticons are lines of reasoning then I have a folder of jpgs I can play the game with.
It's not the emoticon; it's the including a quote, providing a response to that quote (in the form of another quote in this case), then voting the player in question.
I notice that you're asking me about that, while The Most Curious Thing also put down a vote with "what looks like a line of reasoning", and you didn't say anything about it.
Is this first statement to say that your vote was indeed random? I can't parse out an actual answer here.
Second, I didn't see something that looked like a line of reasoning for a serious vote from the Most Curious Thing. I did from you, so I asked about it.

So much ado about nothing. #15 was obvious busywork and you've been caught on it.
It was a pointless post made to look busy. It was obvious that Karn's vote was silly, and so your second question is about a really insignificant thing. Is the question "why put in what looks like a line of reasoning behind the vote?" supposed to have some bearing on Karn's alignment when his only "line of reasoning" for the swishh vote was a rules quote and a cat? #15 is faux-scumhunting at its finest.
I disagree. I say what I think. You're entitled to view it as you like, of course.
I didn't read Sir Karn's vote as necessarily silly, which is why I asked about it. (Sir Karn, from what I read, is claiming the vote was not random, but silly; which I'm not sure what to make of.) I found putting up some modicum of reasoning for a RVS vote which brought a player to 3 votes to be suspect, so I asked about it.
"What looks like a line of reasoning"/"some modicum of reasoning" -- you need to explain what you specifically thought/think looks like reasoning in #10. Not just what you told me in #21 -- how does the swishh quote followed by the Seppel rules quote look like reasoning to you?
There is causality in the quotes. swishh voted him/herself. Sir Karn showed how the vote would not be counted in the rules. S/he then voted swishh.
I asked if there was intention there (read: if the vote was at all related to these happenings), as the quotes show Sir Karn was assessing the situation in some way. That is to say, I was asking if the vote was random or not. I think Sir Karn implied it was meant to be silly, but not random; I'm still unsure about this last part though.
There was causality in Cythare's vote in #5. There was causality in my vote in #6. And hold on, there was causality in my vote in #14 -- forget about my #5, did you seriously not look at #14 and question whether it was random or serious, if you did the same for Karn? It contains "what looks like a line of reasoning" and isn't obviously silly like Karn's vote was.
I asked if there was intention there (read: if the vote was at all related to these happenings), as the quotes show Sir Karn was assessing the situation in some way.
How? How do the quotes show Karn was assessing the situation? He told swishh point blank that you're not allowed to vote for yourself. No situation to be assessed.

This is where we differ I suppose. I didn't read Sir Karn's quote as obviously silly, which is (obviously) why I asked if it was a partly real vote.
What's the difference between silly-and-random and silly-but-not-random?
What's the difference between silly-and-random and silly-but-not-random?
One is random, and one is not.
In my experience, RVS is not exclusively random votes. It starts out completely random, but it also includes silly votes that are not completely random. I think you're reaching here to paint Sir Karn in a bad light this early on.
I'm also interested to know why you were so worried about three votes on the same person during RVS.

I wasn't trying to paint Sir Karn in a bad light, just asking about his/her vote.
I wasn't so worries about the 3 votes either, but it caught my attention (coupled with my not knowing if the vote was genuine or not).

You get a B+ for this post. I was looking for "vote Archae."
I couldn't see your vote in post 14 coming from a serious place. It's a subjective thing.
To answer your other question: Sir Karn was clearly reacting to swishh's vote, providing feedback to a reaction. That is what I mean by assessing swishh's vote. I took the subsequent vote by Sir Karn to be potentially serious.
My Rodemy vote was half-serious. And it was doing the same exact thing you're claiming Karn was doing to swishh: "reacting" to the vote, "providing feedback," "assessing" the vote. If you were being inquisitive about Karn there was no reason not to be inquisitive about me as well (given that you just confirmed that you did think about my #14 before posting your #15).
By the way, these are your completed games, right?

Quote from MafiaScribe »
Each townie is inherently dangerous, because they have a vote, which they can cast at any other player. If a majority of players vote for a single player at any time, that player is lynched. S/he is then "dead" and can no longer participate in the game.

Oh, here's a good example while I'm reading the beginning of Basic #69: scum-killjoy voted the mod, scum-dropkickdude voted himself, and town-pikachugundam voted someone not in the game. It's primarily but not always scum behavior.
