Hey, have been brainstorming a 5c Blink deck and I'd like your thoughts on it, so here it is.
Mr. General
This is now a somewhat tested version. It's gone through much revision but it's getting more consistent which is what I'm aiming for (as well as fun).
Pet cards that probably aren't coming out are: Etched Monstrosity and Havengul Lich (but feel free to discuss them).
To single one choice out, I chose Perplex because it both transmutes and is easier on the mana than hitting double blue. They may get a choice but with most decks always having a full grip its a pretty rough alternative.
The mana base is very much up in the air, but I'm not going to spend money on ABU's: the mana base is consistent enough as is. Ixidron and Legion's Initiative are two of the most fun cards in the deck and enable many shenanigans. They are a couple of my top favorite cards.
I want this deck to be fun but as consistent as possible: always refueling cards in hand, always able to do something every turn. Winning is not important. Abusing signed Russian Etched Monstrosity and making chaos with Ixidron is important.
Ixidron + other creatures + blink multiple things effect: As it says on the card rulings creatures that enter the battlefield at the same time as Ixidron enter face up, which allows you to keep everyone else's cards morphed and your guys still get to trigger/do their normal thing. Vanish Into Memory + Mirror Entity + Small ETB creature: Pump the ETB creature as much as you can, make it Vanish, then when it comes back you get the ETB trigger and you only discard it's back-to-normal toughness! Deadeye Navigator + Venser, Shaper Savant: A slow way to end games. People get upset about this one lol. Reaper King + Conspiracy: You know it you love it, with mass blink this can get ridiculous. Eternal Witness + Mass Blink: E-Wit on board, play a card that blinks everything, get it back with E-Wit, net cost of zero cards for all the ETB triggers you have on board. Classic E-Wit. Planar Guide: Be aware this not only exiles itself, but also blinks ALL creatures. This can be a good (getting attacked by token army) or bad (opponent's ETB effects). Vendilion Clique: Happened to get one so I tried it out. It's been a lot better than expected: getting to remove bombs/answers from player's hands is strong. Still a pretty meh effect for EDH but we'll keep him for now. Void Stalker: Similar to Mangara of Corondor, you can put this guy's ability on the stack and then blink him away. His tuck effect will still resolve to the other creature but Void Stalker gets to fight another day!
