As always, the artwork gets me pumped for the new big set starting a fresh block. Great concept art by Adam Paquette. I love the Swanland and Barger art pieces especially. And is it just me or has David Palumbo outdone himself. This looks like the best work he has ever produced for Magic.
I typically don't like the art of modern Magic sets but most of these have been a refreshing change this time around and I like it a lot. I'm definitely excited about this block and the story of Theros. I love that flamespeaker art by Maciej Kuciara and am happy to see him drawing for Magic finally this year (I've used some of his artwork for custom cards because he's so talented).
the concept art is truly stunning. these characters have so much life and energy to them. I hope that they can preserve that quality in the final art.
Also are we going to get some black aligned leonins? I love to see them portrayed as an evil race for once, instead of the proud warrior races we get. the Nactal were wild and warring but not stealthy night-prowling fiends.

The only mention of them so far has been as the servants of an oppressive Archon, so they're probably still white-aligned. That said, they also seem to be among the "monster" races of the plane. We were told that there are both heroes and monsters in all five colors, after all. I'm very excited for next week's article, I really want to know about all these non-human races.

For what it's worth, the opposite of evergreen is "deciduous" so I suggest we start using that from now on to refer to shroud, banding, islandhome, etc.
The mentions of the other minor gods gives me the impression that they will be associated with color pairs, as the major gods are associated with single colors. Karametra, for example, seems very GW, and Mogis sounds very BR. It makes sense to have cross-block synergy with Ravnica in that way, and we'd end up with a sizable pantheon of fifteen gods in all (probably spread out in three cycles of five across the block, if this turns out to be true).

With the Guide today confirming Medomai, this guy looks a lot more believable: Link
He claimed Medomai was the card that the "saboteur Power 9" hint referred to.
Holy crap, if Trollcreature was right about Medomai, he could also be right about the Theros dual lands being a Nimbus Maze cycle and about a Swords to Plowshares enchantment.

A nimbus Maze cycle does kind of fit with the Devotion Mechanic....

Current post- Grand Prix KC Modern Postmortem (7/7/13)
which is a little surprising cause he clearly seems to be red or red white.
Should we post all the new gods names here or should it be a separate post?
"Personally I love high-riak, low-reqars gambles. Life's best with a decent amount of riak. And f*** reqars."
Green, because the other 4 booster shows white, blue, black and red
I thought they couldn't pack any more flavour into a set after Innistrad!

R Citizen Cane (Feldon of the Third Path)

Oh wait, they already did.
Also, I am personally more pumped for this than I was for Innistrad or RTR. Mostly because greek mythology, but DAT ART. :f
