Don't care how many times they screw up the brackets, it's no skin off my nose to take 10 seconds to go to the website and vote again, but then I'm not a whiny little punk.
I'm now glad "land" didn't go from riches to rags with as many times as this process has necroharvested. It seems to me they want to make sure this horse is viley plundered so they waste not another "You Make the Card." Luckily there is a small contingent of spoiled misery within the MtG Community that will seize the night and perhaps drudge rummage this skullduggery into a crucible worthy of the world. Alas, it is most likely destined to vanish from our memories, and forgotten will be the ancient travesty of You Make the Card.

That, and you know what they say. If Wizards started shipping $100 bills in boosters tomorrow, people would scream and cry and whine that they were folded the wrong way.
Wizards sucks because they decided to make up a new rule and do a re-vote when it was very, very clear that the majority of players who voted wanted this card to be a land.
Seriously guy you're annoying. We get it, you wanted to have lands, but you don't have to spam the forums with your Illuminati conspiracies. And if you really want to be an annoyance that much at least don't lie. The rule was always there.
Vile Plunder:
Generic RPG name. It does somewhat match, though. Although, it's more referencing treasure rather than memories.
Drudge Rummage:
Funny play one words, which isn't a good thing. To drudge is to do distasteful work. So the meaning is "Distasteful graverobbing", to fit the context. It's a bit of a hard sell, but overall is again referencing the physical aspect of the card.
Waste Not:
Probably the most physical-sounding. Yet it does have a cool name. But there's too much confusion thinking the card is about pilfering trash. The armor, swords, packs, etc., are not what The Rag Man is after specifically.
Spoils of Misery:
A decent concept. Now we're finally talking about what he's after: forgotten memories, and when you're talking about a planeswalker's worst immediate memories (losing a card from hand), it makes sense that misery becomes gross spoils in the form of tainted mana or stuff that goes bump in the night.
Riches from Rags:
A reference to The Rag Man. Not entirely necessary, as newcomers won't get the reference anyway. It's another cute play on words, but not really fitting. It is generic enough that it at least gets the concept right: benefit from loss.
Necroharvest:
Another generic RPG name. It should be creepy, but because of this it comes off camp. It just flows off the tongue in a silly way. But yes, he is digging for things long past, but not the dead-- the dead's memories (although perhaps not just dead).
Skullduggery (Skulduggery?):
A good word with a funny pun. But it doesn't fit. Yes, it's funny that he's dug up a skull and that's the title. But this is not reinforced by the meaning. It's saying he's doing dishonest work, dishonorable work or trickery, or the like. It doesn't fit that well, and is way to generic for what's he's actually doing.
Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night):
The best name in abstract. Flavorfully, we have a very complicated card about terror having caused discarded memories (perhaps cursed objects that were thrown out or brought insanity to the owner) and then having a disturbing character (which is instead you once you use this enchantment) extract the essence from those memories and give them real form again. So Carpe Noctem would be a metaphor for seizing the darkness of the heart, rummaging through the lost memories of poor souls who lost them to night terrors and the like.
Wizards sucks because they decided to make up a new rule and do a re-vote when it was very, very clear that the majority of players who voted wanted this card to be a land.

The wedding is over. Now it's time for the honeymoon.
So...what set does this end up in? My guess is M15, since the flavor is generic and the mechanics probably lack cohesion with the next block. On the other hand, that's less than a year away. Any other thoughts on the subject?

Karma doesn't exist. You can't depend on it. If you count on it for justice or catharsis, you will find that you have placed your emotions on very unstable ground; and you will either repeat your disappointment in society over and over, or you will engage in a persistent delusion to protect yourself from that feeling.
Not gonna lie but if a mtg card should say "Seize the ****ing Night" then it should be this guy. Sounds like an awesome name for a black enchantment that gets things from peoples discards.
Maybe the art will show Braids choking the life out of a poor merchant for trying to swindle her.
That is what Carpe Noctum means (well, not the ****ing part) and we already know what the art is, it's something with a rag man in the trash heap picking up a skull.

i love the people that are saying this is rigged. its not like wizards doesn't make hundreds of new cards a year. if they wanted to make a specific card, they could, you know, make it and not have to go through YMTC to do it. And this is the 4th YMTC, so why would they let us make the first 3 and then be like "screw it, let's rig this one."
EDH is like French fries: some people like waffle cut, crinkle cut, or plain old straight cut, and while there's slight flavor difference and personal preference, at the end of the day they're still fries.
