Awesome article, and it looks like you beat Chris Millar to the punch.

I really enjoyed your article; I like to see articles with lots of cool ideas for decks that are just fun. And yeah, it looks like CM got scooped this week.

Thanks guys! I was just about to freak out because I saw Chris's article just now (before I noticed this was posted) and thought OH NO! The rug was pulled from under me!

If the feedback continues on this track... you can expect to see another one from me soon. Here that is. On MTGS.

Interesting to see Michiko Konda in your Darien deck... mine has too, but this is because I use Chord of Calling and Fumiko the Lowblood, so I felt like I might as well get the best mileage possible out of the opponent hitting me !

That was good, I enjoyed reading it. Just when it started to get too long (I read so much online that my attention span wanes after a few pages!) it ended... just right! I like casual deck ideas like that. Thanks Streetz!

I saw that this morning and went "O_O Did they just steal our content?" What a fun coincidence!

I also use Fumiko and Darien (plus one Michiko) in a casual deck, but it's really built around Fumiko so most of the other creatures are cheap guys who like to block (torpid moloch, inner-chamber guard, kitsune blademaster) or big goons with vigilance (razor golem, Serra angel).

good article streetz, i never really thought about lords as a creature type in relation to all the other ones out there. well i did but i never thought about the fact taht there are only 20 lords.

sort of off topic, are you responsible for the gang streetz on urban dead?? if notm they spray paint "streetz is watching you" everywhere. it has carried over into other online web based games. i think you should have it in your signature or something. haha

but yeah, great aarticle. thanks for putting the time into it.

If there are 8000 different cards, and about half are creatures, that leaves 4000 creatures. If there are 400 different creature types, then that would average about 10 creatures of each type. So having only 20 Lords is a bit over the average I would say

Why there aren't more lords:

In general as you mentioned, most lords benefit creatures related to them. However, there are non-lord creatures that have the same effect. To name a few: The warchiefs, sliver queen, kobold taskmaster, Field Marshall, etc. So though there are only 20 "lords" there are many more creatures with the Lord effect.
