This deck was born out of the desire to build the goofiest, dumbest combo deck I could in PDH (following the "uncommon commander, common 99" ruleset). While there might be a goofier one, I doubt there is one dumber. The backbone of the deck is the synergy between the various "defender matters" cards (Doorkeeper, Axebane Guardian, Overgrown Battlement) and Dormant Sliver. Once Dormant Sliver hits the battlefield basically every creature in the deck is a defender, giving you access to boatloads of mana and a strong potential for milling.
Big mana and milling are all well and good, but what about arbitrarily large combos??? I love arbitrarily large combos. So I stuck some in here. Freed from the Real or Galvanic Alchemist combo with Guardian or a Simic Growth Chamber to make infinite mana (green only in the case of the Chamber). Freed from the Real stuck onto a Tidewater Minion is also loads of fun, seeing as it gives you a way to get infinite untaps (and mana) off of basically anything as long as you've got a Guardian or karoo out. Infinite damage off of Viridian Longbow? Sure why not! Mill everyone with Doorkeeper or Screeching Sliver? Don't mind if I do! Infinite saprolings off of Sprout Swarm? Keep 'em coming!
All of the important win conditions (Axebane Guardian, Overgrown Battlement, Doorkeeper, Sprout Swarm, Capsize, Screeching and Virulent Sliver) can be fetched off of one of the threetransmutecards (Drift of Phantams can even serve as a defender in a pinch!). Expedition Map is in to fetch up Simic Growth Chamber, mostly, but can mana fix as well.
One problem this deck has (other than being very soft to sweepers like Evincar's Justice) is that it's pretty slow to get off the ground. You're going to spend your first few turns durdling out some lands and maybe a bit of ramp before landing Dormant Sliver and hopefully chaining slivers into business after that.
First off, let me say that this is probably the coolest green/blue pdh deck I've seen. Most people (including me) just go for the zameck_guildmage.dec, but you did something totally off the wall and different, and I respect that. I can also respect having a vedalken aethermage in here to actually fulfill its other role.
Second, you are missing out on a few good staples. Lignify is the green journey to nowhere. Evolution charm is also fantasmical. Vex is a better counterspell than spell pierce, and Counterspell is better than both of them. I fully recommend Soratami rainshaper and halimar depths because not only are they good on their own, but together they make a pauper sensei's divining top. neurok stealthsuit is a great blue equipment.

Thanks for the compliment! I try to keep my decks fresh. I actually had a Zameck Guildmage deck put together before this, but I couldn't get it to work like I wanted it to. I'd like to see what you came up with.
Chalk not having Lignify in up to a brain fart, I normally always put that card in my green decks. Cancel over [CARD]
Counterspell[/CARD] is another one of those haha. I had Evolution Charm in for a bit but cut it for something, I can't remember what. It's still on the maybe-list for the deck.
Manalith and Darksteel Ingot don't seem very good here. As a two-color deck fixing shouldn't be a huge issue, and jumping from 3 to 5 mana doesn't do a lot considering your curve.

Point taken on Manalith and Darksteel Ingot. I usually just add those to my decks without really thinking, but I'm never particularly excited about them. Swapping them out for Krosan Restorer (thanks, takoy!) and Yavimaya Elder because dat card advantage.

A few odd choices: Vivisection, Primal Growth and Elvish Skysweeper are mostly there in case we need to get rid of Dormant Sliver in order to swing. Vedalken Æthermage serves basically the same purpose, but can also chump or fetch up an Archaeomancer or Galvanic Alchemist if we need them.

Neurok Stealthsuit seems like a straight swap for Whispersilk Cloak, thanks for reminding me of that card. I'll slip in Halimar Depths and a Soratami, too, but I think I might go for Cloudskater instead of rainshaper.
