One of the problems with making a custom set is you can't really physically draft it with any regularity unless you have the capability to print out 360 cards a whim and randomly assort them in specified numbers without seeing the packs. This limits your ability to play.
Another problem is that it is one world. It is one thing you like, not many. A proper set has many themes, but they are all connected in some way. Theros, for example, is about making heroes kill monsters. Zendikar is about lands being important. Alara is about wedges. There is one hero, one villian, it is the expectation that there is a story, be it Glissa being chased by Memnarch or Urza holding back the Phyrexians. This is a limit to your design- a likable one, but as cube drafting has shown us, not needed for a good draft experience.
My concept was to solve these by making a cube that, instead of taking the awesome things already in magic, I would take awesome nonmagic things and make them into cards. I've got the Walking Dead, Marvel comics, DC comics, Hayao Miyazaki films, D&D's Forgotten Realms and outer planes, Tamora Pierce's Tortall universe, Norfolk Naval Base (the actual place), Sherlock Holmes, music (Muse, Paramore, Zed, etc.), Disney movies, Hawaiian and East Asian mythology, Grey's Anatomy, American History, The Matrix, the Holy Bible (it's subtle), and my everyday life.
I follow the development principle that each color combination that each color combination should have a purpose. Here is what I have in mind: WU: Exalted Heroes GW: Legendary matters RG: Gruul Horde Aggro BR: Suicide Villians BU: Spell Reanimator UG: Value Midrange GB: Zombie/Soot Sprite tokens BW: Wrath control WR: Blink Midrange RU: Miracle counterburn (note- you are probably splashing white)
in addition, there is support for land toolbox, morph toolbox, and a few other cool strategies. I can't wait to see when it actually plays.

They don't exactly fit in your color combination archetypes, but I figured I may as well suggest em. Use them as you see fit
I am commited to morph with the mutants. I actually have the set made, but I left out Cyclops!
The only mutant I did not morph was Professor X.
The ability you gave the professor is currently on Cerebro.
I really like your Angel design.
The set is filled on my computer, but if you make a good design I'm gonna look for a spot.
Here's Cyclops and Wolverine.
I wanted to keep the lord feel of Cyclops, so I made sure he played well with others. Wolverine I felt could be dealt with even with a free Regenerate, with exiling, tucking, ability killing, and -x/-x running around, I thought it would be ok- for one card. Hah! Great top-downs. Cyke's ability seems perfect for a mutant lord. And I like Wolverine's protection ability mirroring his resistance to psychic attack. I actually prefer regen 0 to indestructible, since you can still slow him down, and half of wolverine's storylines revolve around something that only threatens him because it stops him from regenerating.
When will the set be up? This looks awesome, I really wanna play with it.

All of my White is up.
Please, any and all opinions, suggested changes, card ideas are welcome, whether or not I agree, it can only make my baby stronger to consider it.
Coletrain, I looked for a place for your Angel, ended up with Mighty Eagle. If I lose a nonexalted two drop spot I'll find a cool flying nonmutant hero to fit the bill. If you think any would be be better as the 'angel' design, let me know.
