Nice Kokusho reference in Evening Star Disciple - this any indication of stuff happening in Call to Glory block?
Maaaaaayyyyyyybeee????
And I do mean maybe. I have no idea yet if Kokusho is around at all, or involved in the storyline. But this Wizard thinks Kokusho is/was pretty cool, at least!
Are you hitting your reprint limit? Otherwise I think Corpse Blockade is probably a cleaner execution for the Callous Hangman slot. (I think what's not hitting for me is the word "callous." Nearly all Vampires are callous, so denoting this one as such isn't doing much for me. Also, executioners have traditionally affected your opponent's creatures, though thinking about it now it kiiiiiiind of makes more sense that it'd be your own guys.)
Cadaver Imp is a cool bro. The Disciple is fine and plenty bad :).
I can't imagine Keiga would be easy to translate into a one-drop, though.
I think a cycle is a great idea. I hadn't even looked at the other Dragon Spirits. Adapting Ryusei and Jugan is problem-free. Yosei doesn't translate perfectly, but I think the solution is clear. I would have to replace Gideon's Lawkeeper in the set, but that's fine.
I'm sure I can come up with a plan for Keiga. A blue control-changing effect at common seems like an interesting challenge.

I have no particular reprint quota for this set. I'll be happy if 90% of the set is reprints or 10% of the set is reprints.
For Callous Hangman, you could consider it part of the "undead 1/4 defender for 2B" megacycle, with Wall of Bone and Corpse Blockade.
I like Corpse Blockade just fine, and considered using it, but ultimately I'm concerned about too much deathtouch in the set, since populating 1/1 green Snake tokens with deathtouch is a thing. Plus, I kind of like how this can play both Wall of Bone's game and Corpse Blockade's game, to a certain degree, by becoming both more deadly to creatures and more resilient to removal.
I like that Nathan Weizenbaum tweeted today that he'd like to see a Cadaver Imp with +1/+0.
Sounds great. It also sounds pretty aggressive. I think you could print a 2/1 Cadaver Imp, but I don't think that my DOM-XI-CtG meta is the place for it. I can already envision Cadaver Imp turning into a recursion engine with Call to Glory's black Ninjas, so I don't think I want to push it beyond where it is.
