Hey Rumor Millers! These check out in the orb and come from a very reliable source.
First up, the king of the white rescue cycle: Dust Elemental ![]() ![]() ![]() Creature-Elemental (R) Flash, Flying, Fear When Dust elemental comes into play, return 3 creatures you control to their owner's hand. 6/6 Woah! Super mega rescue creature - although its probably your opponent that going to need the rescuing once this guy hits the table! Also, since he bounces multiple creatures, you could attack, put damage on the stack, play this guy returning two creatures and him to your hand! A reusuable combat trick AND a evasive beater? Pretty cool and at least good in limited. And finally the mystical instance of 20 in the orb...... But don't get your hopes up. ![]() Heroes Remembered ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorcery (R) You gain 20 life. Suspend 10 - ![]() Trite and predictable. Ew.

I like Dust Elemental. Works great with, well, Radiant's Dragoons and other cheap CITP abilities. That 20-life suspend card? Blessed Wind is better

Two really large cards. The fact that the Elemental has flash gives him some potential, but I'm not 100% sure he's tournament worthy. The life-gain card is crappy.
Edit: What, fear? ![]()

Ew, that life-gain is terrible.
Dust Elemental is clever though! Save 3 of my guys in combat, bring in a 6/6 fear + flying!? Might as well call him unblockable, are there many black or artifact fliers? |

Both are pretty bad. Suspend 10 is just ridiculous. The Dust elemental might be fine, but when are you going to have 3 creatures in play? Not very often. Good anti-wrath measure, but too situational for serious play.

Well, I like the flyer...indeed a king of the safeguard creatures, flying and fear to boost it. The suspend lifegain is another fifty cents rare. |

I love the Dust Elemental. Put the Calciderm counter on the stack, then play it. You get your 5/5 back plus this fat. It's a soild card.
Why life gain? |

Returning three creatures isn't the easiest condition to fufil, but this could be pretty hot in something like blink-riders. Turn two suspend riftwing, turn three play a creature (I dunno what, maybe something like Keldon Brigands). Turn four play Avalanche Riders. Turn five, stack the brigand's vanish trigger and the rider's echo trigger, with the rift-wing's on top. Resolve the rift-wing, then cast this, saving both the rider and the brigand and returning the rift wing as well for recasting in the following turns.

Hey I was just going to post up Dust Elemental Lesurgo! you're quick... and fast!
It's got just enough juice to make me wanna try it, and even though it's in white, Fear and flying is just sick. (why not throw in Shadow too?) The heal spell... meh, but it's good to have one less card for the spoiler.

Dust Elemental is officially ridiculous, since you can save 2 creatures and Dust Elemental in response to Wrath of God or Damnation. It is also an undercosted, evasive beatstick in a color that rarely gets a creature this good. At 6/6, its stats rival Akroma (although it doesn't take Akroma down) for 1/2 the price. On top of that, it isn't Legendary (although it still could be), so you can run Multiples in your deck without any problems.
Situations where it is ridiculously good: any W/x aggro deck that runs creatures. Although you could conceivably bust it out on Turn 3 with creatures, that is not its best use, there are simply too many things to list for its effectiveness. G/W Aggro is going to be a new archetype. R/W Aggro can use a couple of copies of this in the main deck, but I'm not sure how well it will fit there except out of the sideboard vs. Wrath and Damnation. Who needs Scorched Rusalka when you can run Rescue creatures like Whitemane Lion and this beatstick? It works great with Vanishing/Echo creatures like Keldon Marauders and Avalanche Riders. I see Boros perhaps skewing towards a Momentary Blink build. |

Champion trigger on the stack...

What?!
Dust Elemental is incdredible. When does WW not have 3 creatures on board, and as was stated you only really need 2 on board for WoG protection. Makes for incredible combat tricks on the block, not to mention can come in over 1 drops and tokens on turn 3-4. This set just keeps getting better and better. |

I loooove the rescuer although fear on a nonblack creature is really odd. (but hey its PC I guess). The other one is crappy as hell ;_; it makes my eyes hurt. Put it into the squire bin.

I think we know the illustration for Heroes Remembered. It appeared in the latest podcast, the one with Martyrs Tomb in the background.
The cards-How often white gets a 6/6, unblockable beater for 4 mana? And how often it gains the ability to make Wrath of God actually 'fair'? Playable and powerfull. The life gaining spell is... not very useful. That's what it is. |
