It started as another peaceful day in Townieville. All the little townies went about their insignificant daily business. The Vigilante was in an alley stabbing a cultist. The Serial Killer was busy in his room, seeing if he could make his latest victim cough up one of his kidneys. The Masons were in their secret hideout, discussing irrelevant plans of some kind.
Just another peaceful day in Townieville.
However, soon, a horrific screech will forever shatter the peace that these innocent members of this small society have thus far enjoyed.
Soon, the whole town will rush into the scene of a grisly murder.
Soon, the quiet Townieville will be quiet no more.
That's right.
Patches, the townie Cat, has been MURDERED! The remains of his body lie in pieces strewn around the middle of the street.
Staring in amazement, it takes the residents of townieville a moment to realize the truth.
The culprits are nowhere to be found; however, the parts, if carefully examined, spell out a macabre warning to the town.
"WE IZ THE MAFIA. WE IZ TAKING OVER THIS TOWN. NONE OF YOO PANZY TOWNIES CAN STOP UZ. MUA HAH HAH HAH HAH".
It had to have been a group job. Hitting Patches would have been no easy task - that cat could bench-press 250 pounds and bite through 3-inch steel plating with ease. This group was good. Very, very good.
Looking around, the townies of townieville go quiet. Suddenly, everyone is a potential enemy. Backing off slowly, the townies of townieville return to their homes. Wondering if they are going to be next.
And it was looking to be such a peaceful morning in Townieville...
The Rules (mostly stolen from fade :p)
All votes and unvotes must be in bold.
Once a player reaches majority, unvoting will not prevent the lynch.
There are no set deadlines, but I may impose them if it appears necessary.
No posting in the thread at night. Modkilling isn't my thing, but that might only be because I've never had the chance. Let's keep it that way ;).
No communication outside the game unless your role allows it. Otherwise, no discussion of the game outside of this thread. See #4.
If you die, a "goodbye" post is fine, but do NOT include any extra information about the game in your post.
No editing or deleting posts. See #4.
Do not double post for spam or unnecessary edits/additions.
No quoting any PMs from the mod. Paraphrasing is acceptable. See #4.
If you will be gone, please inform me in advance.
Wrath_Of_Dog has the right to post vote counts if he wishes.
Any unnecessary flaming of any players based upon past experiences will result in action being taken. You don't want that.
PM me if you need replacing. Do NOT clutter up the thread with stuff like that. However, I do sincerely hope that this rule isn't necessary at all.
Keep the same avatar throughout, please. Visual aids are good.
Worship WoD and Arimnaes, for they helped me create this game.
Corpses in Townieville (6) Patches, Townie Cat - Chopped up into little pieces as a warning, Night 0 LookingForReality, "The Stupid Noob", One-Shot Bulletproof townie - Tied up and left for the Serial Killer, Day 1 Creampuffeater,"The Vote-Spammer", Townie Double-Voter - Found with comically oversized knife stuck in head, Night 1. Well, that was a pretty disgraceful start to proceedings.
In fact, I'm going to Vote: DreamBlade until he apologises.

So that makes it pretty clear you know a lot more about what's in DreamBlade's pants than I do.

Kudos to Sephiroth Owa for the random banner. Tell me, ARE there similarities?

Seriously, the guy's a crazy motherf'er, who must die.
Couple reasons why:
1. He's british. Therefore, dangerous to the world. This is stereotype mafia after all.
2. He's devious at all hell. This is the guy who almost stole Seinfeld mafia. Too Dangerous seriously.
3. He's good in limited. This means he's dangerously good at adapting to curveballs in setups, making him all the more dangerous.
4. He dissappeared from playing mafia for like 5 months, now reappears? He must have ulterior motives, and ulterior motives are bad for townies.

Hate to do this, but I also think it's the best play in the situation and have said so in the past.
I'm a miller (flavour: tangled with Patches the night before last and still have the bites to prove it). My stereotype (paraphrased) is the role that sounds like a mafia false claim. No, you may not know what ability comes with that. You need to know I'm a mason so that the cop doesn't waste time with me- you don't need to know anything else.
Or to put it another way: RafaelK is very likely a Mafia who knows perfectly well that he's the natural night one Cop target and wants to avoid the obvious sequence of events.
S'fine, there's a very easy solution to that problem. Leave him alive until we think there's only one scum left, then lynch him (unless by some miracle we know the last scum isn't him).
An additional benefit of this approach is that it discourages the Mafia from killing im if he is Town, because they know he's good for a free mislynch later.
Even better is the fact that RafaelK tends to be an active and insightful commentator. If he does get killed early (for example by an SK) then whether he turns up Town or Mafia, we'll get plenty of good material to analyze.

I played a bit (and still do) on Boardgamegeek, but other than that, nowhere else.
This is interesting... just a heads up: lot's of times millers aren't told theyre millers.. just keep that in mind. Mostly waiting for clarification on the mason/miller.
Lately, it seems like millers keep getting told that they're millers. Which kind of defeats the purpose of making them a miller..but w/e.
SILLY CYAN, THIS IS A STEREOTYPE GAME! AS SUCH ONE WOULD EXPECT SUCH OFTENLY CLAIMED ROLES (FALSELY OR NOT) TO BE ACTUAL ROLES IN THE GAME (as they are stereotypes....get it?)

vote Myrf. Goodbye newbie scum. Try not to be so obvious next time you try to take advantage of a situation with blatant bandwagonning.
This vote is completely serious.
Oh, and I meant "you need to know I'm a miller". No mason claim intended. I had masons on the brain at the time from posting in DotA mafia. Sorry, error.
bateleur's analysis is correct. As with L5R mafia, this is what I believe is correct play for a miller role. Once we get down to one remaining mafia, obv. I am likely candidate for death unless I can clear myself in the meantime (lynching Myrf and Myrf coming up scum will be a good start). In the meantime, one less person the cop needs to investigate.
Cyan: I'm pretty sure that the caps and impatience to lynch are loran role-playing his stereotype rather than loran actually being quite that obnoxious
Cyan: I'm pretty sure that the caps and impatience to lynch are loran role-playing his stereotype rather than loran actually being quite that obnoxious
No, Loran's pretty obnoxious.
I'm not advocating this currently, but why don't we (both in this specific game, and from a meta perspective) want to vig the miller, thus saving the inevitable lynch?

I'm not advocating this currently, but why don't we (both in this specific game, and from a meta perspective) want to vig the miller, thus saving the inevitable lynch?
