Alright, so this is a weird deck. I think when I had originally made the deck, it was to abuse Possessed Portal, but that required Future Sight. So I bagged the idea of it being T2, but then I thought again and came up with this load of crap that might be good or might not. I don't what to make of it. In goldfishin, I have found it to be either very slow, or very fast, it varies. So, please help:
:shocked1: Yeah, sorry about that. The main goal is to get out about 7 or 8 permanents, most if not all of them being artifacts. One of the permantents is a Blinkmoth Urn, one is a Possessed Portal and 2 are the Planar Portals. I would also prefer the Lattice and a March, but those just help the lock I get from the Portals (all 3 of them). The idea is to not allow your opponent to draw anymore (Possessed Portal) while you still make things happen on your side of the board (Urn and Planar Portals). The kill comes from either Urn, Urn/Lattice, March or March/Lattice. I also used to have Beacon of Tomorrows in the deck so that I could go infinite and still have the lock on my opponent with the Possessed Portals. When I had the Beacons, the deck was mono blue control and didn't have the Marches in it, I had Bosh instead.
I have doubts on this deck being able to become a competitive tournament deck. From the looks of it, it seems to be a bit too slow to compete with the speed of Affinity, as well as lacking in any ability to control the board against most creatures.
I will make some suggestions though. I would definately look into trying to fit in some Vedalken Engineers. They provide a consistant 2 mana of any color to be used with your artifacts. I say this cause I really don't like Desperate Ritual. Thirst for Knowledge is a great card drawer with many artifacts in your deck as possibly Thoughtcast if you can lower the cost with its Affinity. Trash for Treasure seems like a neat trick with Possessed Portal but I'm not to sure on that one.
Yeah, Thirst for Knowledge + Trash for Treasure could be used to get out either of the portals or the Darksteel Forge much earlier.
2 Chrome Moxes? I'd cut these, you don't have much you can imprint on them; in fact, all you have to imprint on them are cards that will help you search or cards that will already accelerate you, aside from your Echoing Truths.
Since you're running Gilded Lotus and March of the Machines, might as well fit in a few Voltaic Constructs so you can pull off an infinite mana combo.
Have you tried running Memarch? He might go with the theme, and you'll have the mana to use him.
