Wow they reprinted Moat thats insane. Not to mention a Blood Moon thats a creature nice for aggro decks.
Though of course being a creature hurts the Moat effect a bit.

Moon seems kinda lame, and Moat seems kinda INSANE.
But the cost and meager creature body keep it in check. I think it'd be a ***** to see in draft.

Wow, I learnt something from these Magi. I always thought Blood Moon cost 3R! Whether he'll have much use after Rav I don't know, but he should be fun until then unless they're already playing red. Magus of the blood would have been a cooler name.
Magus of the moat seems like he could be fun in draft, just go after all the flyers and hope he doesn't get killed. While hoping that you get one. EDIT: Magus of the moat's rather useless for blocking. At least they didn't give him a power greater than 0.

But then they can't use redundant Blood Moons (the creature is a Gray Ogre)... Could this make nonbasic land dependency particularly painful in t2? EDIT: Mmmm... six posts in a minute.

Blood moon just seems bettr IMO. Magus f the mat is victimto almost every emoval spell in Standard, so it will hgose Aggro about as much as Magus of the Tabenacle has.

I can say that magus have to be about the best cycle WotC have ever created! I love these along with the rest and I think that these are just as good as the others! Can't wait to see how they shape up in EXTENDED where non-basics are rampant and wonder loves to hit the yard!

The Blood moon magus seems definitely playable in many standard decks in this current enviroment, the other magus I'm not so sure about...

Magus of the Moat is barely a speed bump for aggro decks. Don't sing its praises too loud, but rather be thankful they didn't actually reprint Moat, since Standard would probably become so slow as to appear glacial.
Could've done better with these Magi. Vineyard, I'm all for. These, not so much.

Holy crap. It's about time they reprinted moat! Of course, being a creature makes him a touch more vulnurable, but he still earns a big "wow". I'm very happy to see this.
The moon I love. I actually like the fact that it can swing for two, even though it's a bit more vulnerable to red. But the cool thing is, he is most vunlerable to red, in which case, blood moon wouldn't help much in the first place. I think its a stronger card then blood moon. Nice. |
