Here is the ONLY information I, or anyone else, ever had that pointed to Piledriver being in:
At the London (UK) prerelease we had artist Dave Kendall there. At the judges dinner the night before, he had a few beers and let slip that he had done art for Goblin Piledriver which was going to be reprinted in 10th.
He also mentioned that he enjoyed doing art for Lorwyn as it was based on fairy tales and an 'enchanted world' kind of theme.
What did Dave Kendall draw?
The new Goblin token
This was clearly a huge miscommunication, either from the 'drunken' artist, or someone along the line.
As I have said repeatedly, Piledriver is NOT in the set, and I am sorry for leading anyone to believe as such.

Well, if he had a few beers, maybe he was too sloshed to remember what he was talking about. "Seige-Gang Commander token" must have come out as "Piledriver"
Don't worry Urza, we forgive you.
EDIT: there was also some magazine that said Piledriver was in...wasn't there?
Isn't it possible that the art on the token card was originally commisioned to be used on pile driver. Then perhaps they decided it wouldn't be a good idea to reprint it and used it for the token art instead.

Before someone else mentions it, no.
We don't know the context of it, but the context was VERY likely 'there is talk on the internets of Piledriver being in'. (Which was the case when the magazine went to print, but by the time it hit stores Piledriver was disproven.)

No, because the token is one of the goblins shown in the art of Siege-Gang Commander.
That and in no way does it depict a 'Piledriver' as the original art does. (Not to mention I don't think the card needed new art anyway)

piledriver was too powerful the first time around.. i would hate to see gobs powerlevel that high for a while ( i mean the deck still has a footing in legacy.. )
although it did garner a lot of talk about 10th when it was being rumored.. and "after a few beers" stories get mixed up anyways.. ah well... not this time maybe next though

I just want people who redraft to admit this:
"I can't draft objectively unless I am able to guarantee that I receive at least 3 rares. I am also better than most average/new players so I want to make sure that I get the best rares and they end up with worse ones. I care more about the monetary value of cards than actually playing the game for decent prizes."
This is a bit off topic, but... This 'enchanted world' business is news to me. Does this suggest that if Lorwyn is another tribal block, this time around it will be centered around tribal enchantments (ala Bound in Silence)? This would be straying from Onslaught quite a bit, and in a way that our first sequel block, Ravnica, never strayed from Invasion. I'm not looking forward to any enchantment blocks, myself.

You're reading too far into it, I think. By enchanted world he means like a traditional "enchanted" world of high-level fantasy. Elves, goblins, merfolk, a happy world with a hidden problem kind of thing.
Artists also aren't really given much information about set mechanics. I don't think this is the next "Grinning Demon" hint.

There wasn't a good goblin deck before legions came out and warchief was legal. Unless lorwyn made some good goblins, goblins would be pretty janky even with piledriver.

Can I add the fact this is a rumor section. Meaning people who take this section as hard fact before release is always open for a BIG disappointment if something is incorrect. You shouldn't feel sorry as you also thought the info was reliable. You can't win them all but the track record is good enough compared to other sites:)
Yeah we won't be seeing any goblin decks at all, even piledriver wouldn't have made these janky cards good.
The on problem with your observation is that mogg fanatic is an awesome 1 drop. You are right if you mean as a support aid for Piledriver because the fanatic won't be sticking around past turn 3 most of the time.
I still wanna know what the deal with Lotus Noir is.
I believe it was something like this:
We thought Piledriver was in, but before we disconfirmed him Lotus Noir noticed our spoiler and were all like: "omg cool, piledriver is confirmed."
Then we went to Lotus Noir and saw that Piledriver is confirmed and we're all like: "omg cool".
And than the spoilers were finished and everybody is a very sad panda.
An environment with crap like Goblin Piledriver (which might as well be printed with a note that lists a deck for you, since it requires a squirrel sized brain to figure out) is a crap environment.

I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic. Like, mind-bendingly obvious sarcasm. The kind where you really have to have been hit by a train not to realize. Or perhaps a Piledriver.
Oh? I untap with my Djinn in play? Then I'll cast High Tide 5 times, let the copies resolve, cast Remand 3 times, the first and second targetting the original High Tide, and the third targetting the first Remand. After the stack empties, I'll cast a Turnabout with 1 replicate, and triple-remand again. Net Effect: Draw 4 cards, Islands all produce 4 extra blue, lands untapped. Repeat until I draw Vision Charm and proceed to deck several hundred players.
So piledriver ISN'T in?!?! I hate it when everyone says the spoiler has been completed and it turns out to be wrong. But then again, the moderators were wrong about shivan meteor (which was accusedly fake but turned out to be real). Could the artist do art for a piledriver and a goblin token? In many instances in Magic, artists draw numerous art pieces for like cards so that they may easily have a connection. I don't buy the explanation that the piledriver doesn't need new art. Story circle just had a facelift in eighth and its getting another facelift again so it can be asserted that new art is often commissioned for random cards.Anyways, if the piledriver REALLY isn't in, I'm alright with it. It'd be nice to have onslaught around a little while longer but I felt many of the other tribes didn't have a chance to shine. As for an Lorwyn being an enchantment themed block, I hope it isn't true. The ravnica enchantments that came into play with bonus abilities were pretty boring. Enchantments make games really slow.

::checks spoiler:: I don't think the piledriver was ever in the completed spoiler...
Yeah, and I totally agree with the people who say piledriver in standard would ruin it for everyone. Some of you must not have been around for Onslaught block...
(heh, I still liked Onslaught block a lot... someofmyfavoritecards are from that era.)

That said, 10th still looks really awsome to me and I think I can deal without the ole gobby in standard, I still have extended

Don't forget costing one less. I forgot there were no good cards in legions
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=174913
a list of good cards from Legions:
1. Akroma, Angel of Wrath
2. Glowrider
3. Withered Wretch
4. Gempalm Incinerator
5. No, thats about it...
Personally I am glad that it isn't returning. No need to return to Onslaught block, thank you very much.
Why did I know someone would go there......

Funny stuff here... cause siege-gang commander is utter jank... mogg war marshal - jank, squee, he totally sucks with seige gang, mogg fanatic - total crap

Even Mystical Teachings requires more thought than that.
GWU Bant Manifest - The Future Is Here. Or it will be at the end of turn. GWU
