Yesterday I was reading this blog, but I thought he meant at the beginning that he was kidding. However, seeing how the last two cards were just shown to us by Wizards and this blog was made yesterday (before they were shown), I would say these are real and the blog poster meant to put these in the rumor mill, but may have had trouble navigating the site.

Card Name u
Sorcery (c) Look at the top three cards of your library, then put them back in any order. You may shuffle your library. Draw a card. (Like a Portent) Not quite brainstorm , but it will do for now, it's probably on par with serum visions and that saw play. Card Name uu Instant (u) As an additional cost to play this, return a creature you control. Counter target spell. Wow , I really want to stick this with eternal witness in my casual crystal witness deck |

Out of those 187 other creatures I think Mystic Snake would benefit the most. All in all a very powerful card with little to no drawback.

The Faerie Wizard card at the end is confirmed in the Japanese Nationals thread, I believe. I think the new Portent may be better than Portent, since the only differences I can see is that it is a cantrip instead of a slow-trip, but it only lets you look at your own deck, not your opponent's. I think I'd prefer it to Serum Visions, since it lets you look at three cards and draw one of those three (or shuffle), whereas Visions cantrips and then lets you look at the top two, giving you less options than the new card does for that turn. Then again, although Visions forces you to draw that first card, it does allow you to select which of the two after it you want to draw, and lets you send one or both to the bottom. Perhaps a more skilled player than myself can analyze the pros and cons better. Out of all of the cards, that cantrip excites me the most, although the new counterspell is pretty neat.

The card design seems good. Nothing is overtly complicated, the design seems elegant enough and playable, although the fact that many of these cards are similar to others, especially the Veldaken Engineer-alike, is weird. The Portent-alike is very playable, but I'm a cantrip fanboy so I'm biased. I kinda prefer Serum Visions, since with Visions you can put crappy cards at the bottom and keep good ones, but with this one it's all or nothing. Although digging 3 is always better than digging 2. The pseudo-counterspell is VERY interesting, it would definitely be playable in Blink. This and Galepowder Mage give Blink a lot of goodies. The Kithkin is playable, depending on what Giants we get, although the flavour doesn't make much sense to me. The Giant enchantment is interesting, and I can imagine you could make a deck with several mid-range cost Giants with the same CMC. The shapeshifter is essentially a bear with benefits, depending on what tribal stuff we get. Hope they're real! Or, at least I hope the counterspell and cantrips are real.

Look real. Two of those were already spoiled. Nothing backbreaking, but nice stuff. They are even pushing creatures into heavy blue. Hm...
Edit: But then again, I might be wrong on them being real. Happened before.

He is Japanese, so it's very possible what he meant to say did not come out right because his English is rusty. Maybe it's all supposed to be one sentence instead of two: "Please Please Please Please Please do not believe I made it from the imagination."
In any case, seeing how he had the two real cards, I would definitely say these are real for now, although I'm not going to add them to the spoiler quite yet.

Heh, I always end up liking the preview card nobody else gives a crap about.
I dig this lil Kithkin soldier guy. I'm imagining something similar to how they handled "demon/ogre" only hopefully they'll do it better this time. I mean that guy and that cool ass lifelink fling giant are already pretty cool already. |

These seem fake to me. That Blue Counterspell especially seems completely overpowered in a format with Mystic Snake, Draining Whelk, Cloudskate, etc. Not to mention in other formats where it combos with crazier stuff like Eternal Witness and Flametongue Kavu.
I'm hoping it's not real, because most of these cards are extremely bland, and the counter seems overpowered (and I hate overpowered counters). |

These are nice. Some of them are a little confusing, but nice.

Card Name
![]() ![]() Instant (u) As an additional cost to play this, return a creature you control. Counter target spell. this has some intresting synergy with comes into play effects but i still would play counterspell, forbid, FOW over this. might be return target permant you control? then you could return a tapped land and replay it if no land drop that turn Last edited by clubalien.com : 09-01-2007 at 04:34 PM. I'm willing to believe these are real.
Card Name ![]() ![]() Tribal Enchant - Giant (r) Each creature with the highest converted mana cost has Protection (all color) Nice way of protecting you fatty in limited but it can backfire quite nastily. Not really exciting in any particular way... Card Name ![]() ![]() Creature - Kithkin Soldier (c) this gets +1/+1 and has first strike as long as you control a Giant. 2/1 Just a few hours ago I was musing about BDW. This guy just screams to be used with Mr. Brion. Card Name ![]() ![]() Instant (u) As an additional cost to play this, return a creature you control. Counter target spell. I hear Faeries will have a lot of CIP abilities. And guess what? They will be blue. Card Name ![]() Sorcery (c) Look at the top three cards of your library, then put them back in any order. You may shuffle your library. Draw a card. My favorite in this batch. In many ways better than Serum Visions. Maybe we'll see enough good cantrips in this block for real Gro decks in T2. Card Name ![]() ![]() instant (c) Put any number of target creature cards from your graveyard on top of your library. Draw a card. Great in limited since stacking up a row of good draws in mid and late game will always be good. Don't now about contructed... probably not worth it unless they reprint Goblin Ringleader with lots of good, cheap goblins. Card Name ![]() ![]() Creature - Elemental Shaman (c) T: Add two mana in any combination of colors to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to play Elemental spells or activated abilities of Elementals. 1/1 Predictable but still nice. Might be good in dedicated Elemental decks in limited since its an acceleration and a mana fixer in one. Depending on the quality and curve of Elementals might be playable in standard. Card Name ![]() ![]() Creature - Shapeshifter (c) Shapeshift (this cards is every creature type always) 2/2 Wonder whether this ability will be used wider. Anyway, good design but bears are not known for their huge power level in limited and costructed. |
