Rumormonger
![]() |
...You may be asking yourselves, just what does it take to rumormonger with impressive results these days, well I'll tell you:
Faith. Faith that the rumor gods (those glorious Rumor Gods) will always provide solid answers to every rumor question you may ask of them... And boy do they answer well:
Spoiler:
Yep, say hello to the goblin shock, I might also throw in that there's a couple of cards that will be able to make sure you can call up this guy quite easily when you need it, but that's for another thread, at another time. Needless to say there's a few Tribal instants and sorceries in Lorwyn which fully push thier respective tribes... again, we'll discover mroe of these over the next week, without a doubt. o.k, the next one:
Spoiler:
Now, a little note the creature type isn't 100% yet, could be rogue, or soldier, but warrior seems to make more sense to me ATM. Brigid's not the greatest legend ever, but she can clean up for you in limited should she 'go live', that'll be enough to see people try her out in block constructed, in particular the Kithkin decks, which interact so well with her when they launch thier attacks... I can comment on a couple of cards (Which I can't name yet) which work very well with both aspects of Brigids abilities from Lorwyn's Kithkin tribes... so stay tuned to the mill for more on these as the glorious Rumor God's reveal them to us. Please feel free to discuss these cards, but remember to keep it all on topic, give us some intelligent insight, theory and content in your posts please. Enjoy!

Hmm... the kithkin guy seems like a good defensive creature. Can take down a */4 creature. But I don't think he is good outside of limited.
And OMG GOBLINSHOCK !

Wait.
Is that some strictly better Shock I see there? I thought they were trying not to do that to the "iconic cards..."

Brigid - a weenie that hoses weenies! Also seems to be a good answer against fliers.

Strictly better (unless there's tribal hate) Shock! Wow! Maybe it'll get added to even Legacy Goblins?
And a rangestriker that hits multiples? Not any good in constructed, but in limited, it'll completely tie up combat, making it basically impossible for your opponent to attack (blocking will be quite difficult too). |

Thank goodness for Oblivion Ring. We'll need it in limited with Brigid and her kind running around.
And the goblin shock - whoa! Can't wait to see the tutors. EDIT: Hydro, you RAWK!!!!!!!

Thanks, brother Hydro, you just keep dropping them on us. Tarfire is good. Shocks are always great limited picks, and if the tribal thing becomes important, maybe even constructed. The kithkin hero is meh. The a ability is fine and all, but in white you wan't to attack, not hold back to damage attackers/blockers with a trick seen a mile away. A 2/3 body is also small at 4 mana. Limited bomb, again, but constructed will need better cards from white.

I sure hope that Brigid is a Solider instead of Warrior... need to fill holes in Soldier deck.
As for Tarfire... need to check Gatherer on how Goblin Ringleader and the like got reworded...

And if you don't think there's going to be Tribal hate (I'm thinking Pro Goblin, etc)..you're crazy. So not STRICTLY better...but a close runner-up. Then again...we also can't tutor up shock with some sort of Goblin tutor....so maybe it CAN be better...but isn't STRICTLY better.
Cheers, Austin |

Nice work Hydroman!!! I wonder what the other tribal instants/sorceries will be like? The shock isn't a suprising choice for red.... Maybe something we haven't seen (something weird?)? Only 16 days to go till the prerelease!

It's not strickly better, it can't kill foothill guide!!!!111!1!!1Shift + 1!! I wonder if I'll be able to Matron for this though, that might be really good.
I like that the legend can kill any non first striking X/4 without breaking a sweat (ok, 2 points of sweat) and do it before you take any damage. Talk about a first pick in limited, wow. all X/2's and I mean all X/2's stay home, and your 1/1 trades with thier 3/3, quite good. |

Things like Goblin Matron and Goblin Ringleader all have Oracle wording that still refers to a 'Goblin Card'. Might change as Tribal works its way into the format, but at the moment you can tutor up yourself some Shocks.
