I’ve felled some Treefolk of every colour for you – but I must warn you that they’re mostly pretty ordinary Limited cards.
Cloudcrown Oak ![]() ![]() ![]() Creature – Treefolk Warrior (c) Reach 3/4 Spider-Tree, Spider-Tree, does whatever a Spider-Tree does. Can he swing from a web? No, he can’t – he’s a Treefolk. Look out! Here comes the Spider-Tree! Forgive me if this was totally predictable, but then so was this card. Bogstrider Ash ![]() ![]() Creature – Treefolk Shaman (c) Swampwalk Whenever a player plays a Goblin spell, you may pay . If you do, you gain 2 life.2/4 Continuing the themes of enemy-colour landwalk (see Hillcomber Giant) and enemy-tribe responses (see Quill-Slinger Boggart), this is another unexciting but playable common (at least if your opponent’s playing black). Black Poplar Shaman ![]() ![]() Creature – Treefolk Shaman (c) ![]() : Regenerate target Treefolk.1/3 Hmm…a Boneknitter variant with a bigger butt, and a higher activation cost (as Treefolk are harder to regenerate than Zombies, I guess). Big, fat Treefolk don’t need to regenerate much, though do they? Oaken Brawler ![]() ![]() Creature – Treefolk Warrior (c) When Oaken Brawler comes into play, clash with an opponent. If you win, put a +1/+1 counter on Oaken Brawler. 2/4 If you lose the clash, it’s just Foot Soldiers – and even a 3/5 for ![]() isn’t terribly thrilling. Again, a pretty straightforward design, producing a reasonable common.Sentry Oak ![]() ![]() Creature – Treefolk Warrior (u) Defender At the beginning of combat on your turn, you may clash with an opponent. If you win, Sentry Oak gets +2/+0 and loses defender until end of turn. 3/5 A slightly more interesting uncommon, with a trigger condition I don’t think we’ve ever seen before. You can clash every turn, if you want to! And a 5/5 attacker is quite nice, when you win.

You're definitely right. They are limited fodder. The Black Poplar Shaman might see more play than the others. I may be wrong.

I like Cloudcrown Oak - just compare it to Giant Spider **
Sentry Oak is nice, too, especially with those expensive Treefolk... |

The card is better then Giant Spider for sure by 1 power.
Anyways yeah not much to see here the regen one might see a bit of play if Treefolk really are "the" tribe of Lorwyn.

These are all pretty good. I imagine certain rush strategies will have quite a few problems bypassing those large behinds. Glad to see the "Reach" treefolk. I always wondered how come spiders have reach and treefolk don't.

Thanks Orange Mage, it's nice to see mono color non green treefolk.
Cloudcrown Oak- solid, limited strong, constructed treefolk deck posibility. Bogstrider Ash- stats aren't impressive but hatred for black and for goblins is always good, limited solid, constructed dubious(only in a treefolk decks sideboard). Black Poplar Shaman- 1/3 for ![]() = bad, 3cc target treefolk reanimation = too expensive, boarderline limited playable, constructed jank.Oaken Brawler- boring and slightly below curve without winning the clash, slightly above the curve but still boring if you do win. Limited playable, constructed jank. Sentry Oak- interesting card but 5cc is too high, at 4cc I would have played around with him a 3/5 wall for 4 is weak, but a 5/5 attacker for 4 is strong. At 5cc it's limited boarderline playable(23rd card maybe), constructed jank.

There's also a card that lets you draw a card whenever you win a clash. Potentially very useful.

Cloudcrown Oak seems decent in limited. Giant Spider is fine in Tenth Limited, and for the same 4 mana---though a more color-intensive two green instead of one---you get an addition point of power and a much more useful creature type.
We've already seen several spoiled Goblins (Boggart Loggers, Nath's Buffoons) that hated other creature types; Bogstrider Ash suggests that the tribe-hate will not be restricted to Goblins alone, but also be a feature of other tribes. In limited, Sentry Oak combos nicely with Entangling Trap, which triggers whenever you clash; they're the same color, and they will make your attacks quite effective. Also, though Sylvan Echoes is green instead of white, if you're playing the white Sentry Oak, then you're probably playing a treefolk deck, which probably includes green, so Sylvan Echoes also is quite nice with this card, drawing you an additional card every turn. Remember that even if Sentry Oak loses defender by you winning the clash, it is not required to attack, so you can hold it back if you don't want to risk it in combat or if you want it on defense as a blocker. Not if you win the clash, which is what FirstType meant; even if you win, you can hold it back to block.

The treefolk tribe seem to be putting there rather large wooden and probably leafy foot down hard and saying we are the best and clearly the strongest tribe within lorwyn, I mean come on we already have treefolk that grants ridiculous abilities these are no different, they are cool and are probably gonna win alot of new followers, maybe me, sod dragons, hooray for large lumps of wood. Got wood hahaha!!!

Assuming the info is accurate, there's nothing here for constructed. These are the cards you'll be seeing in piles on tables after drafts.
![]() But at least they are treefolk, which have cool flavour and sometimes cool art too. |
