This comes from an anonymous source which has provided reliable info, and should be taken as 95% confirmed. Thanks, source.
Charge Across the Araba - ![]() ![]() Instant - Arcane (U) Sweep - Return any number of plains you control to their owner's hand. Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn for each plains returned this way. Illus. Dany Orizo #4/165 Now THIS is more like it. This is the alpah-strike that Plow Through Reito wishes it was. :smile2: Like Warrior's Honor, except all you have to do is return 3 or so Plains and it's better. Try 4 or 5 and it wins you the game. |

If this is what Charge Across the Araba does, then what does Plow Throught Reito do? Apparently there is such a card.
EDIT: Oh, I see the difference, now. This affects all creatures you control. You're right. This is better.

Here you can find Plow through Reito. On-topic: quite a hefty finsher indeed...

In Limited, you might even play it for one, because it can screw up the opponent's math and annihilate his team.

Looks saucy. But at five mana, I'm not sure. Good thing sweep is not terrible against counterspells though - you return the lands as the card resolves, not as an additional cost.

I'm not sure about this card in WW. Five mana is quite a lot for WW, especially if the deck runs Hokori, but the potential of this spell is big. With just a 1/1's and two 2/2's and 5 plains, you'll be able to deal 20 damage. (And at that point in the game you should have done some damage already.) I think this might spawn a new variant of WW (maybe with a little more lands then usual (or white mana myr???)). In limited, it's a game ending effect. I compared 'Plow though Reito' with Strength of Cedars , for white Plow though Reito is useful. This card (Charge Across the Araba) has the same cost as SoC but each creature you have gets a bonus (Let's say you only got 2 plains in play... 5 creatures would still mean +10/+10 in total. Compared to Devouring Rage it's a good card... returning lands to hand is a minor setback compared to sacrificing spirits. Thanks RE and your source.

Once again, they are trying to force WW to be good, but it seems they may actually be doing it now with the cards that I have been seeing.

oh i don't know, i definately see this as a WW finnisher.
with all the land scooping in this set, i fully expect there to be some type of card where "lands cannot be the target of spells or abilities" type thing, only worded differently of course... maybee it would be a Ravinca card though, much in the vien onf Imi Statue arriving after Mirrodin block. |

Wow... It's an instant, it's arcane... it totally shreds your opponent to pieces. Great in limited and maybe even playable in constructed? My, there will be some frustated players on the wrong end of the beating stick coming prerelease.

Well, now that's a bit wow... It's a shame WW at it's present state can't support it... Maybe if the land # is raised... Great find! Thanks!

So, the two white Sweep cards both give +1/+1? And we shouldn't worry, there's plenty of ideas in R&D? :slant:

Inter...esting.
4 sweep cards, 2 in white, 1 in black - maybe none in green and blue and one in red? Or maybe this or plow are green, not white? Also interestingly, araba shows up twice in the orb. |

Just to remind people. This is part of Maro's preview article: "Brian's also a bit of a rebel and so if you study Saviors closely you'll notice a bit of convention breaking. (Especially in the cycles.)" I guess most cycles will not be 5-color cycles, which i good, because this is the flavor block; and they already gave us a green dragon. :tongue2:
