My friends ands I have come up with a very fun casual format that I'm hoping to popularize. Basically, it uses the Dakkon avatar, which allows you to play spells as lands of the same color. Thus, any random collection of cards, even with no lands, can be played.
So, I wrote a program that takes your entire collection and generates random 120-card decks out of it (with no card duplication). It also adds the Dakkon avatar and 2 of each basic lands (so that rampant growths and so forth will work). Then, we play with them... one match per deck, then move on to the next deck.
Because it's so random, it has a lot of the unpredictable and goofy feel of Momir-basic. But at the same time, it's much more like real magic in that you are actually casting spells of all kinds, and you actually know what your spells are as you cast them.
One drawback is that it's limited to cards actually in your collection. I've been playing limited since the beginning, so I have a huge collection with tons of unique cards. For a newer player, it would be a lot less varied. Also, games between players with radically different collections might be very lopsided. However, I think it's still quite a bit of fun, and I hope people give it a shot.
Put dakkon.exe in your Magic Online directory, go into a dos prompt, change into that directory, and type "dakkon (accountName)". This will scan through accountName.dat, find all the cards in that account's collection, and then create 100 120-card decks in decks\dakkon_AccountName. Then, enjoy!
A few other notes:
-Dakkon.exe has a bunch of options involving deck size, number of basic lands per deck, etc.
-There's a "banned list", which consists of cards which make no sense in the format at all. You can modify this or turn it off via the command line.
-You are also, of course, free to play multiplayer or 2HG games, which should be quite fun as well.
I'm on MTGO a lot on one of my two accounts (IanS or Afterlife), and will play all comers.

One comment that was brought up a lot in the wizards thread, reasonably enough, is that downloading .exe files from strangers on the internet and running them is a generally bad idea. Which is true. Honestly, there's no way for me to convince anyone here that I am who I say I am. However, I will post the source code also: http://www.mediafire.com/?6dbdddmdg1a
So anyone with access to Microsoft Developer Studio can check it out and see that I'm on the up and up.
Anyhow, the format is a blast, and I hope people give it a shot.

To play, you need:
(1) A dakkon avatar
(2) Dakkon.exe, which I put here:

Put dakkon.exe in your Magic Online directory, go into a dos prompt, change into that directory, and type "dakkon (accountName)". This will scan through accountName.dat, find all the cards in that account's collection, and then create 100 120-card decks in decks\dakkon_AccountName. Then, enjoy!
