I gotta go with the artical... you're more likely to use this as a 4/4 flyer than a miller. It's possable, but... I look forward more to the green and black versions, which could actually be usefull.

Not underpowered? er... just how long ago have been mill strategies off? This is a 4/4 flyer for 5 mana with a rather mediocre ability for constructed. In limited, yes, this might be quite solid, but it's an awful constructed card... unless you're going for casual.

Its the first Kirin YAY!
Very nice in draft, where a majority of your spells will be Spirit/Arcane, and with the lower number of cards in a deck its even more effective. Also, a 4/4 flier for 5 is never bad.

I agree w/ Bastian.
I'll extrapolate a little more, even. Has a milling strategy *ever* worked competitively? Hum..I don't think so. It's not going to start based off of this one guy. In limited, though, this guy is ridiculous. Just being a 4/4 Flier for 5 in Limited is stupid enough, but having ANY sort of extra ability..wow. This ability is particularly relevant as well, since a majority of the spells cast in Limited are Spirit/Arcane. |

Yeah I nice 1st pick in a CHK-BOK-SOK Draft. Unless the other Kirin's have triggered abilities similiar to this one. Betting Black would be discard X or destroying target creature with CC X or less

It's a cool cool card, but the art?
eew. *pokes with a stick* it's uuugly. Really ugly. but such a beatstick. the lil' person of the appropiate term wants to snap it in half, but I shall resist. I'm more interested in Sakishima, personally. |

Well, I'd just like to point out (in my defense) that I play mostly Limited magic, so that tends to color all of my posts.

Just admit it.

...why mill someone when you can pound them to death with a 4/4 flyer? the ability's not amazing either, since mill decks don't play many arcane or spirit cards (unless its dampen thought or dreamborn muse), especially after turn 5.
in other news, strictly better than air elemental, which has never happened before. I'd hate to open that in a pack though. wizards should either make milling viable or stop making slow mill cards. because right now nobody's happy. |
