Since taking the last Waterbury, does anyone think that WU Fish will be on the rise or was this just a one shot deal?
Here is the deck for those who haven't seen it. I also think it is funny that the deck is still called fish yet runs no Merfolk either in the main or the board. |

I think the deck has some serious potential in Type I.
That said, there is a lot of metagaming that can be done with this deck. Javelineers are great for Welder-heavy areas, but are certainly not as strong vs. Oath or combo as, say, Rootwater Thief. |

I was thinking about the Thief, but room would need to be made in for board. As for the match up against Oath, I think running Mages and Swords are quite good in that match up.

Thief is just too slow these days. A better sideboard answer to Oath (if you're expecting to see a lot of it) is Waterfront Bouncer, otherwise the Disenchants are just a better overall choice. As for Jason's build, I love the creature choices, but I think Time Walk is always worth a slot in a tempo-based deck. I would rather have the random Time Walk than the random Misdirection since it's a good draw against anything. I don't think I would change anything else though.

Then again, it might be too slow if you're actually casting it as opposed to using AEther Vial. Quote:
The one Misdirection is a bit strange. It's really only there for Ancestral Recall and to a lesser extent Swords to Plowshares. |

If you're getting Thief out with a Vial, the soonest you can hit them with it is turn 4. I don't see how that's going to be effective against anything :/ Either way, you're spending mana in your main phase removing 1 card instead of playing out Standstill or another beater. That's a HUGE tempo loss.

Wouldn't a better sideboard card against Oath be Gilded Drake. You will take the initial attack damage, but then you just take it. If you use Vial, then you will never take the damage as you just steal it.

No. Why? Because drake might end up stealing a tapped SotN if it came out first. This will not be enough to save you from Akroma. It also won't save you from SalvagerOath (unless vialed) or HydraOath.

Why does everyone keep mentioning Aether Vial which happens to not be in the deck? Honestly, I think the Vial would be quite out of place in this deck despite what it brings to the table.

Aether Vial is not just out of place, its usually bad in this deck. One of the prime pecies of hate is null rod, which shuts down your own cards (killing your few moxen is bad enough), and you really don't need it.
On another note, between medling mage, StP, bounce, null rod(for salvagers), and stilfe, you really already have enough hate to beat Oath, not to mention that oath is not that prominant as opposed to decks that cause this decks more problems, like combo, which is the reason for the almost pure combo-hate board.

Here is what I have been playtesting. Let me know what you think!!
I'm Trying to give Fish a better Match up against Oath & Welder Decks. I took out the Red cuz Grim Lavamancer wasnt doing very well against Big Creatures. I've been thinking about testing Disrupting Shoal to back up my counters alittle more. I'm Trying to get this Deck Ready for the Black Lotus Tournament in July at TreasureCoveGames.com. I dont have much time left to fix this deck myself so any Help i can get would be Nice!!! Thanks Alot U/W Fish Creatures 4 Cloud of Faeries 4 Spiketail Hatchling 3 Meddling Mage Spells 1 Time Walk 1 Ancestral Recall 1 Misdirection 2 Daze 3 Stifle 4 Swords to Plowshares 4 Force of Will Enchantments 4 Standstill 4 Curiosity Artifacts 1 Mox Sapphire 1 Crucible of Worlds 3 Null Rod Lands 1 Library of Alexandria 3 Adarkar Wastes 4 Tundra 4 Mishra's Factory 3 Polluted Delta 4 WasteLand 1 Strip Mine SideBoard: Not sure about Side, Any Comments?? 3 Maze of Ith 3 Disenchant 3 Blue Seal 1 Null Rod 2 Tormods Crypt 3 Chill This deck has been doing pretty good. I would like to add in more counters but not sure what to take out. My main fear with this deck is a Turn 1 Kill Combo deck & Goblins cuz they are really fast. If anyone has any Comments Please let me know.

I DON'T NEED A REASON

@UltimaFreak: Look at the first post of this thread, and revise your deck to look a lot more like it. This thread never had red involved in it, and fish has evolved where Wu Tang Fish is the fish to play. Curiosities are obsolete, etc. Read the rest of this huge one page thread before posting next time, as your list is not nearly as efficient as the winner of TMD Open.

Remember, more counters aren't necessarry as Meddling Mage (especially with Ninja bouncing him up and down) subs in. Then you also have all that utility in Null Rod. Swords, Stifle, and the Misdirection.

Does Kataki, War's Wake (legendary 1W 2/1 that gives all artifacts an upkeep of 1) have a possible place here?

Nope because you want to play Null Rod and the like which are just better.
